This appointment follows nearly 14 years as Parish Priest of Noosa District Catholic Parish. The full text of the Archbishop’s statement is on the back of today’s newsletter for you to read. I have spent this last week reflecting and praying about this pending move from Noosa to Kenmore and I cannot but be overwhelmed by the many joyful memories of my time as the Parish Priest of Noosa. To be honest there have also been some challenging times and difficult decisions made along the way. With the help of so many faithful people in the parish, the office staff, the 6 school Principals and school staff and the many people who have served on parish and school committees, these challenging times have been overcome and important decisions made for the good of the Catholic community here at Noosa. So it is with some sadness that I leave the Parish of Noosa in the coming months, but as we know, for Parishes to be healthy Christian communities changes in leadership are vital. It enables a community to continue to grow into the future with new ideas and a new vision of the Gospel. I have been blessed as the Pastor of the Noosa Catholic Community and I hope that God will continue to bless each and every one of you into the future as you strive to be Gospel people. Fr Mark Franklin Parish Priest Parish Luncheon with Archbishop Mark Coleridge Archbishop Mark will talk to us about his experience of the Synod on the family last Oct and Pope Francis recent letter ‘the Joy of Love’. TO THE PEOPLE OF GOD OF THE PARISH OF NOOSA DISTRICT
After consultation, I have decided to appoint Fr Mark Franklin Parish Priest of Kenmore and he has accepted this new mission. I am grateful to Fr Mark for his generosity in saying yes to my request. He will be much missed in Noosa District, but I am sure that his gifts and experience will equip him well for all that awaits him at Kenmore. Because of his commitments in the parish, Fr Mark will not take up his new appointment until Saturday 3 December. In the near future I will call for expressions of interest in the parish of Noosa District, and there will be a parish consultation to help discern its need as it moves into the future. A new pastor will then be appointed. At this time of transition, may the God of peace bless you all in every way. The Most Reverend Mark Coleridge Archbishop of Brisbane
