Only God Can Foretell A Truth by Pastor Fee Soliven Matthew 2:16-23
Wednesday Evening August 13, 2014
16 Then Herod, when he saw that he was deceived by the wise men, was
exceedingly angry; and he sent forth and put to death all the male children who
were in Bethlehem and in all its districts, from two years old and under, according
to the time which he had determined from the wise men.
17 Then was fulfilled what was spoken by Jeremiah the prophet, saying: 18 "A
voice was heard in Ramah, Lamentation, weeping, and great mourning, Rachel
weeping for her children, Refusing to be comforted, Because they are no more."
19 But when Herod was dead, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared in a dream to Joseph in Egypt, 20 saying, "Arise, take the young Child and His mother, and go
to the land of Israel, for those who sought the young Child's life are dead." 21 Then he arose, took the young Child and His mother, and came into the land
of Israel.
22 But when he heard that Archelaus was reigning over Judea instead of
his father Herod, he was afraid to go there. And being warned by God in a
dream, he turned aside into the region of Galilee.
23 And he came and dwelt in a city called Nazareth, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophets, "He shall be
called a Nazarene."
16 Then Herod, when he saw that he was deceived by the wise men, was
exceedingly angry; and he sent forth and put to death all the male children who
were in Bethlehem and in all its districts, from two years old and under, according
to the time which he had determined from the wise men.
Isaiah 13:10-1110 For the stars of heaven and their
constellations Will not give their light; The sun will be darkened in its going forth, And the moon will not cause its light to shine. 11 "I will punish the world for its evil, And the wicked for their iniquity; I will halt the arrogance of the proud, And
will lay low the haughtiness of the terrible.
Mark 10:13-1613 Then they brought young children to Him, that He might touch them; but the disciples rebuked those who brought
them. 14 But when Jesus saw it, He was greatly displeased and said to them, "Let the little children come to Me, and do not forbid them; for of such is the kingdom of
God.
15 Assuredly, I say to you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God as a little child will by no means enter it." 16 And He took them up in His arms, put His hands on them, and blessed them.
Psalm 63:1-101 O God, You are my God; Early will I seek
You; My soul thirsts for You; My flesh longs for You In a dry and thirsty land Where there is no water. 2 So I have
looked for You in the sanctuary, To see Your power and Your glory. 3 Because
Your lovingkindness is better than life, My lips shall praise You.
4 Thus I will bless You while I live; I will lift up my hands in Your name. 5 My soul shall be satisfied as with marrow and
fatness, And my mouth shall praise You with joyful lips. 6 When I remember You on my bed, I meditate on You in the night watches. 7 Because You have been my help, Therefore in the shadow of Your
wings I will rejoice.
8 My soul follows close behind You; Your right hand upholds me. 9 But those who
seek my life, to destroy it, Shall go into the lower parts of the earth. 10 They shall fall by the sword; They shall be a portion for
jackals.
17 Then was fulfilled what was spoken by Jeremiah the prophet, saying: 18 "A
voice was heard in Ramah, Lamentation, weeping, and great mourning, Rachel

carried away captive to Babylon.
2 And the captain of the guard took Jeremiah and said to him: "The LORD your God has pronounced this doom on this
place. 3 Now the LORD has brought it, and has done just as He said. Because you
people have sinned against the LORD, and not obeyed His voice, therefore this thing
has come upon you.
19 But when Herod was dead, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared in a dream to Joseph in Egypt, 20 saying, "Arise, take the young Child and His mother, and go
to the land of Israel, for those who sought the young Child's life are dead." 21 Then he arose, took the young Child and His mother, and came into the land
of Israel.
1 Samuel 15:22-23Then Samuel said: "Has the LORD as great
delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, As in obeying the voice of the LORD? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, And to heed
than the fat of rams. 23 For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, And stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry. Because you have
rejected the word of the LORD, He also has rejected you from being king."
Hebrews 11:6"But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God
must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek
Him."

with His hand.
Psalm 91:1-71 He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High Shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. 2 I will say of the LORD, "He is my refuge and my fortress; My God, in Him I will trust." 3 Surely He shall deliver you
from the snare of the fowler And from the perilous pestilence.
4 He shall cover you with His feathers, And under His wings you shall take refuge; His
truth shall be your shield and buckler. 5 You shall not be afraid of the terror by night, Nor of the arrow that flies by day, 6 Nor of the
pestilence that walks in darkness, Nor of the destruction that lays waste at noonday. 7 A thousand may fall at your side, And ten
thousand at your right hand; But it shall not come near you.

Isaiah 11:1-21 There shall come forth a Rod from the
stem of Jesse, And a Branch shall grow out of his roots. 2 The Spirit of the LORD shall rest upon Him, The Spirit of wisdom and understanding, The Spirit of counsel and might, The Spirit of knowledge and of the
fear of the LORD.
