The Naonal Atmospheric Deposion Program (NADP) is a cooperave program of federal, state, tribal and local agencies; educaonal instuons, private companies and non- governmental groups. NADP provides long-term, high-quality air and precipitaon measurements to evaluate atmospheric deposion over space and me. NADP’s 500+ independent sites and four monitoring networks measure acids, nutrients, base caons, and mercury in precipitaon; plus atmospheric concentraons of gaseous ammonia, and gaseous, elemental and parculate mercury. NADP data supports research on mul- pollutant source/ receptor relaonships, atmospheric modeling, the potenal for deposion effects on terrestrial and aquac ecosystems, and biogeochemical cycling of pollutants. About the Meeng This is the first totally online Technical Meeng and Scienfic Symposium in NADP history, and registraon is free! Therefore, aendance is ancipated to be historically high and internaonally well aended. The meeng is intended for sciensts, resource managers, educators, students, policymakers, and others interested in atmospheric deposion, air quality, and its effects on aquac and terrestrial ecosystems. NADP data has been used for decades to understand and solve real-world problems impacng people and the planet, including helping to facilitate cleaner water, healthier air quality, more producve fisheries, informed environmental planning, improved air quality and climate forecasng, and responsible environmental stewardship. Agenda at a Glance October 26-27: Science Commiee Meengs: Crical Loads of Atmospheric Deposion (CLAD) Total Deposion of Atmospheric Nitrogen (TDep) Mercury in the Environment and Links to Deposion (MELD) Aeroallergen Monitoring Science Commiee (AMSC) October 28 – 29: Scienfic Symposium Presentaon Sessions Welcome, Logiscs, and Awards Keynote: Dr. LaToya Myles, Deputy Director, NOAA Air Resources Laboratory, ATDD Oral Presentaons October 30: Poster Session November 4-5: NADP Technical Commiee Meengs Joint Subcommiees, NOS, EOS November 9: NADP Execuve Commiee Technology Note All aendees must be web connected. Symposium Theme “NADP in a Changing World” will focus on adaptaon of atmospheric monitoring and modeling methods, emerging contaminants, and new techniques for assessment of human and ecological effects of atmospheric deposion, to meet the challenges of changing climate, ecosystems, and society. Abstracts and presentaons on any topic related to atmospheric deposion are welcomed. The Scienfic Symposium will include the following sessions. October 28: • Changing Physical and Chemical Climates – emissions and deposion in changing climates • Advances in Monitoring Reacve Nitrogen, Mercury, and Emerging Contaminants • Advances in Measurement-Model Fusion for the Future October 29 : Effects in Terrestrial and Aquac Ecosystems • A Changing Society – urbanizaon, agriculture, energy, policy • Panel Discussion – regulaon(s), environmental effects, monitoring, engaging industry and the public October 30 : Symposium Poster Session – Posters will consist of 4 slides presented by the authors (5 minutes). Quesons will be answered in the “Chat” funcon. All topics related to atmospheric science are welcome.
