Curriculum: Students receive teacher created content using Google Classroom as the learning management system for English, Mathematics, Science and Social Science courses. Teachers will utilize Board adopted curriculum, supplemental resources, and online tools to communicate with students including video postings, live webinars, and video conferences. Students wanting AP English, AP History, or AP Mathematics courses would do so using the APEX or Edgenuity platforms. Parents may want more personalized instruction in AP programs, but the District has limited resources. Contact the Educational Services Office regarding questions about AP offerings. List of Teacher Led Courses: English 1, English 2, English 3, English 4 Algebra Foundations, Algebra 1, Geometry, Algebra 2, Precalculus World History, US History, Economics, Government Earth and Space Science, Biology, Physics ON-CAMPUS COURSE ENROLLMENT The expanded distance learning program is being offered to provide families with the opportunity to limit social contacts to mitigate viral transmission. Therefore, students selecting this program shall not be enrolled in on campus in-person courses. ASSESSMENTS: Students shall be expected to take assessments once a week on campus in designated assessment spaces away from other students. Each school will need to identify such social distancing spaces and develop a process for proctoring, assuming not all teachers will be working from campus. Students who are unable to come to school and take assessments shall be expected to take assessments following guidelines set by the assigned teacher. GRADING: Students shall be assigned letter grades. Online Distance Learning Program The health and safety of students and staff is the top priority when making the decision to physically reopen school campuses for use by students, staff, and others. To further support students who may be at increased risk of becoming infected with COVID-19 or live in a household with someone who is at increased risk of becoming infected with COVID-19, the District created an Online Distance Learning Program. Edgenuity is a video based learning platform, whereas APEX is text based. Print packet options will not be provided. A teacher facilitator will monitor student progress in APEX or Edgenuity and communicate with students including hosting live webinars and video conferences to support learning. Students in need shall be provided Chromebooks and hotspots. Students will have up to five different teachers (English, mathematics, science, social science, and an elective teacher). Athletics/Extra-Curricular Programs: Students remain enrolled at their school of residence participating in the Online Distance Learning Program. Students are eligible to participate in athletics or after school extracurricular activities affiliated with the school following school procedures and regulations.
