Some common thoughts or feelings we have concerning our salvation

God will save meAfter all I am not so bad!

Romans 3:10-12As the Scripture say, No one is righteous not even one. No one is truly wise; no one is seeking God. All have turned away; all have become useless. No one does good, not a single one.

Isaiah 59:12For our sins are piled up before God and testify against us. Yes, we know what sinners we are.

James 2:10For the person who keeps all of the laws except one is as guilty as a person who has broken all of Gods laws.

God will save me if I am religious enough.

Galatians 2:!5-16You and I are Jews by birth, not sinners like Gentiles. Yet we know that a person is made right with God by faith in Jesus Christ, not only by obeying the law. And we have believed in Christ Jesus, so that we might be made right with God because of our faith in Christ, not because we have obeyed the law. For no one will ever be made right with God by obeying the law.

God will save me if I do enough good works.

Ephesians 2:8-10God saved you by his grace when you believed. And you cant take credit for this; it is a gift from God. Salvation is not a reward for the good things we have done, so none of us can boast about it. For we are Gods masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.

Romans 6:23For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord.

Titus 3:4-5But-When god our Savior revealed his kindness and love, he saved us, not because of the righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. Psalm 103:8-13The Lord is compassionate and merciful, slow to get angry and filled with unfailing love. He will not constantly accuse us, not remain angry forever. He does not punish us for all our sins; he does not deal harshly with us, as we deserve.

Psalm 103:8-13For his unfailing love toward those who fear him is as great as the height of the heavens above the earth. He has removed our sins as far from us as the east is from the west.

Psalm 103:8-13The Lord is like a father to his children, tender and compassionate to those who fear him.
