A Standard:• a measure, criterion or specific behavior against
which something or someone is measured• are norms that express an agreed upon level of
practice that has been developed to characterize, measure and provide guidance for achieving excellence
• provides a guide to the knowledge, skills, judgments and attitudes that are needed to practice safely
