Center Stage launches season with 9/11 Play Center Stage, Three Rivers College’s blended community/student the- ater company, will kick off its 2016-17 season with a staged reading of “And I Stood Still,” a commemora- tion of the Sept. 11 attacks. “And I Stood Still” will be performed at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 11, in the Tinnin Fine Arts Cen- ter Auditorium. Tickets are $10, $5 with a Three Rivers ID, and are available at the Three Rivers Student Ac- counts Office or at the door. “9/11 was an event that left an indelible impact on every citizen of this na- tion,” said Tim Thompson, Director of the Tinnin Fine Arts Center for Three Rivers College and the play’s au- thor and director. “Now, 15 years after the attacks, we’re still feeling the aftermath of it, and I think this show will help the audience explore their own reactions to it.” Thompson wrote the script for “And I Stood Still” immediately after the 2001 attacks. It explores the after- math of the attacks through a diverse set of viewpoint characters, some close to the tragedy, some farther from it—yet all affected by the fall of the Twin Towers and the attack on the Penta- gon on September 11. Auditions for “And I Stood Still” will be held from 4 – 7 p.m. Monday, Aug. 22, in the Tinnin Fine Arts Center Auditorium. The production is a staged reading and will not require memorization and will have limited rehearsals. Audi- tions for the next Center Stage show, “Stand Up, Act Right,” will be held during the same session. Center Stage is a blended theater company that brings together students, college employees, and community members to produce live theater. It provides both lo- cal entertainment and hands- on experience for Three Rivers students interested in the dramatic arts. For more on how to participate in Center Stage, contact Tim Thompson at 573-840-9648 or [email protected]. Three Rivers College is committed to contribut- ing to the quality of life in Southeast Missouri with quality, affordable higher education opportunities and community services that support and encourage the economic, civic, and cul- tural vitality of the region. Center Stage launches season with 9/11 Play

Center Stage, Three Rivers College’s blended community/student the-ater company, will kick off its 2016-17 season with a staged reading of “And I Stood Still,” a commemora-tion of the Sept. 11 attacks. “And I Stood Still” will be performed at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 11, in the Tinnin Fine Arts Cen-ter Auditorium. Tickets are $10, $5 with a Three Rivers ID, and are available at the Three Rivers Student Ac-counts Office or at the door.

“9/11 was an event that left an indelible impact on every citizen of this na-tion,” said Tim Thompson, Director of the Tinnin Fine Arts Center for Three Rivers College and the play’s au-thor and director. “Now, 15 years after the attacks, we’re still feeling the aftermath of it, and I think this show will help the audience explore their own reactions to it.”

Thompson wrote the script for “And I Stood Still” immediately after the 2001 attacks. It explores the after-math of the attacks through a diverse set of viewpoint characters, some close to the tragedy, some farther from it—yet all affected by the fall of the Twin Towers and the attack on the Penta-gon on September 11.

Auditions for “And I Stood Still” will be held from 4 – 7 p.m. Monday, Aug. 22, in the Tinnin Fine Arts Center Auditorium. The production is a staged reading and will not require memorization and will have limited rehearsals. Audi-tions for the next Center Stage show, “Stand Up, Act Right,” will be held during the same session.

Center Stage is a blended theater company that brings together students, college employees, and community members to produce live theater. It provides both lo-cal entertainment and hands-on experience for Three Rivers students interested in the dramatic arts.
