2. Highlights of the Dl:)llth. J The following data "WaS taken from the daily SITREPS.
During the month of April VIvIO-2 vm.s invloved in the support of Operation Oklahoma Hills. Throughout the month VNO-2 UH-lE gunships supplied cover for such mis"ions as resupplYI med evaes, recan il)serts and extracts and troop lifts. During the month the UH_lEf s accumulated 177.8 flight hours ru1d 439 sorties in conjunction with this particular operation.
VH0-2 OV-lOA.' s also played a significant role in this operation by controlling air stri}{es and artillery missions on known and suspected' enemy positions. They also supplied the 7th and 26th Narines with close air support and visual reconnaissance of the operating area.
The UH-lE gunships continued ~, cOVer resupply jnissions for ROK units engagod in Victory Dragon X.
Four AH-lG "Buoy Cobras" wero introduced into this squadron on 10 April 1969. Tho first combat medon was flown 011 18 April. Throughout tho remainder of tho month tho aircraft was used for combat missions and for training of Co bra crews. A . tOtEil of 1,,2 combat sorties and 30 familiarization sorties wero flown this month.
