I had some addional surgery a couple of weeks ago (2/12); it was a much less invasive than the last surgery. I ancipate that I’ll be in and out of work (mostly out of the office, but able to do quite a bit remotely) during recovery and then addional treatments over the next several weeks. The treatment plan beyond the surgery has not been definively set yet, but I ancipate that it’ll be an immunotherapy agent through a clinical trial. I’m very grateful for an excellent team of doctors doing everything possible to help me win this fight! Whatever is determined to be the best course of treatment, I’ll connue to work as much as possible to support the important work of the agency. I’m extremely blessed to have the support of such a talented management team and staff and have the upmost confidence that the work of serving our community will connue at the same high quality as if I was sing at my desk! A huge thank you goes out to the Directors team and everyone who has pulled together to keep everything running smoothly. As you likely know by now, Carly Ward will be leaving us for an opportunity that she couldn’t pass up. Very unfortunate for us! We thank Carly for her hard work over the past several years and for her willingness to help out with some work during a transion period. The Directors team is developing a plan to handle all of the work that will connue to need to be done aſter Carly’s departure. We’ll let you know as soon as we can the details of who will be taking on which tasks so that everyone will be on the same page as we move forward. As a result of the above, the Directors team is stretched very thin and really has their hands full with the day to day operaons of the agency. Therefore, we have made the decision to postpone the annual full-staff in-service day. I feel badly about this situaon, but we really feel that this makes sense at this me so that we can be sure to make effecve use of the day for both training purposes as well as celebrate the successes of the agency and honor our staff who have gone above and beyond to serve our community. More details to follow soon!

Health update: Unfortunately, I have had yet another recurrence in my back area. I had some additional surgery a couple of weeks ago (2/12); it was a much less invasive than the last surgery. I anticipate that I’ll be in and out of work (mostly out of the office, but able to do quite a bit remotely) during recovery and then additional treatments over the next several weeks. The treatment plan beyond the surgery has not been definitively set yet, but I anticipate that it’ll be an immunotherapy agent through a clinical trial. I’m very grateful for an excellent team of doctors doing everything possible to help me win this fight! Whatever is determined to be the best course of treatment, I’ll continue to work as much as possible to support the important work of the agency. I’m extremely blessed to have the support of such a talented management team and staff and have the upmost confidence that the work of serving our community will continue at the same high quality as if I was sitting at my desk! A huge thank you goes out to the Directors team and everyone who has pulled together to keep everything running smoothly.
