Dropping CoursesOfficial Day of Record • The Official Day of Record each semester is the last day to drop a class without it appearing as a

class attempted on your transcript. • Dropping a class after Official Day of Record will show as a withdrawal, or “W,” on your transcript

and may count toward your Six Course Drop Limit. Note: Refer to the Academic Calendar for Official Day of Record dates.

Six-Drop Rule• The state requires Texas public institutions to limit the total number of class withdrawals to six. • Withdrawals accumulate from all Texas public institutions, but do not include drops that occur on or

before Official Day of Record. • Dual Credit courses do not count toward the six-drop rule, but classes dropped after official

day WILL still appear on the student’s transcript with a W.

Course Repeat Policy• Students will be charged an additional $60 per semester credit hour for attempting most credit

courses 3 or more times.
