Animals• Aquatic animals: Whales, Dolphins, Sea lions,

Seals• Land animals: Raccoons, Beavers, Minks, Elk,

Deer, Cougars, and Bears

History/Culture• People- Hunter gathers of the native Indians

villages where they would kill whales for oil• Some families would travel from place to

place on the Olympic mountain• Olympic Peninsula was the final frontier of the

Continental United States

Preservation Efforts• Rangers keep a patrol to watch for poachers

and keep the park a safe place to visit • The organization of the park is always helped

with park volunteers • The preservation of specific animals are also

upheld such as the no killing or harming of whales
