Nutrition Assessment: Are you looking to enhance your athletic performance? Optimize your health? Lose weight? You can learn what fuels your athletic performance by visiting our on staff nutritionist for a Nutrition Assessment. The nutritionist will meet one-on-one with you for scheduled appointments to meet your individual needs in a comfortable, non-intimidating environment. This program is completed in two separate one hour sessions.

This interactive program will utilize the Old Town-Orono YMCA’s newly-
renovated kitchen and will consist of 6 sessions during the Fall 2 Session
(there will be a break the weeks of Thanksgiving and Christmas). Join our
nutrition educator in the kitchen to learn 10 tips that will teach you how
to choose and prepare healthy foods and beverages on a limited budget.

BODYPUMP® is the original barbell class for absolutely everyone, giving you a total body workout that burns calories, shapes, and tones without building bulky muscles.
There will be three back-to-back classes to launch BODYPUMP at the Y.

Member Orientations: Our fitness staff is here to help you enjoy our Fitness Center. We will meet with you individually and teach you how to use our equipment. (Sign up at the Fitness Desk). Free For Y Members
Personal Training: A Personal Trainer will meet with you, one-on-one, for scheduled appointments, provide comprehensive fitness programs and create innovative and affective workouts to meet your individual needs.

Fitness Assessment: Are you curious about your current fitness level? If you are, then fitness testing is for you! This program is designed to be completed in two separate one hour sessions.
In the first hour, you will have your body fat, circumference measurements, flexibility, upper body & lower body strength, as well as cardiovascular tested. Based on your results, your Personal Trainer will create a program designed for YOU that will focus on areas you want to see improvement in. The second hour will be devoted to instruction and implementation of your new program!

Aqua Toning: Come get all the benefits of a body toning class on land and take the stress off your joints at the same time!
Deep Water Fitness: This program uses deep water moves in varying combinations and uses resistive equipment such as hand buoys and noodles, plus weight belts for support if desired.
Silver Sneakers Splash: Activate your urge for variety! Splash offers fun, shallow-water movement to improve your agility and flexibility while addressing cardiovascular, strength and endurance conditioning.
Aqua Zumba: Splashing, stretching, twisting, shouting, and laughing - that’s Aqua Zumba classes for you!
Water Conditioning: This class is a total body workout that focuses on strength conditioning while using the deep, mid, and shallow parts of the pool.

TRAVEL BASKETBALL
The Old Town-Orono Y Travel Basketball program combines player development with a fun and competitive atmosphere. The 5th/6th grade & 7th/8th grade teams will typically practice 2 nights a week before Middle School basketball starts and then 1-2 nights a week once school basketball has started. The 3rd/4th grade teams will consistently practice 2 days per week.
Games will begin in early November and will go until mid February. Most teams will then continue on through March and April, playing in tournaments around the local area. The post season tournaments will require additional registration fees.
Cost: $100
This price includes free registration for the annual Bob Messier Tournaments!

Preschool Open Play (Ages 8 months to 4): Parent participation is required. The gym is set up with a variety of age-appropriate equipment and is supervised by coaches, but it is unstructured.

Tumbling Clinic
Private lessons are a great way for an athlete to get one on one time with a coach and master those tough skills they may be struggling with. It is also a great way to get some extra time in the gym to help the individual keep progressing through our program.

Do you enjoy a refreshing walk or run but not in Maine’s harsh winters or brisk fall? Bring your walk/run indoors to our track located in the Field House. Tracks are open during regularly scheduled hours of the Y.
NOTE! After Thanksgiving, the tracks are closed as follows to allow Old Town and Orono high schools practice time:
Tap & Ballet Combo Class (Ages 3-10): An introduction to tap and ballet, focusing on developing body awareness, rhythm and grace while and nurturing love of movement and music. 45 and 60 minute class options.

Guitar lessons are now offered at the Old Town-Orono YMCA for students in
grades 3-5.
Lessons are 45 minutes once a week dur-ing the eight-week session. Our trained in-

Parent/child Program (Ages 6 months to 3): This program provides the highest quality of early water experiences for children from six months to three years. Program instruction is directed toward help-ing parents work with their children. One adult must accompany each child.

Pike with Parent (Ages 2 to 5): Similar to an independent pike class, parents are involved with the structure and teaching techniques in the program.
