THE PROPERTY

The Grade II listed property is thought to have its origins in the 13th century,

but the present building is, we understand, mainly 17th century. It takes its

name from what was known as the Lion Gate, one of the original entrances

into the walled town. It has colour washed elevations under slate and flat roofs

and the accommodation is arranged on ground and first floors with an

extensive basement cellar.

PUBLIC AREAS

There are front and side doors, the front door leading into a hallway off which

is a most attractive carpeted Bar/Restaurant seating about 40 with many

exposed heavy wooden beams and pillars and attractive furniture. Log burner

in stone fireplace and chimney breast. The Den seats about 20 and is another

attractive room with feature stone fireplace.

LETTING BEDROOMS

10 letting bedrooms to sleep 18 (6 double, 2 twin, 2 single), one is the

atmospheric Cromwell Suite with its own galleried seating area. Two rooms

have en suite bathroom and WC and seven en suite shower and WC and the

10th bedroom has its own private bathroom. All rooms have central heating
