Tech Tips: Gas Tank Sediment
Taken from the August 1995 Flathead Times and originally
submitted by Francis Von Muller; Ford/Mercury Owners Magazine
Depending on the location of your drain plug, park your
car on a slope, so that the right or left front wheel is the
lowest. You can jack up the right or left wheel instead.
Unscrew the gas tank plug and let out about a pint or so of
gas. You will be surprised at the amount of sediment, rust,
and water will come out. Do this about once a year, being
be more than happy to publish any of those that you submit.
In fact, I would be thrilled! So please get those V-8 Fords out
for a well deserved drive. If anyone would like to get a small
group together for a drive that would be amazing.
