When operating in generators and turbines, the radial and axial shaft supports are

faced with very high demands in performance.

Wärtsilä can offer high performance self-aligning Industrial bearings that will meet

such requirements.

The generator bearings are available in a wide range of sizes and executions suited

for all applications, all designed according to specific DIN standards.

Although complete bearings can be supplied, we also have the capability and

expertise to design & supply retrofit components to non Wärtsilä products.

The Industrial bearings are self aligning

bearings with housings made of cast iron

with centrifugally cast tin based white metal

bearing surfaces.

Available in three different designs with

variable executions to suit special

requirements.

Bearing adapted for being fixated to a

platform, designed according to DIN 31690.

Bearing with laterally positioned flange,

designed according to DIN 31693.

Bearing with flange in the middle, designed

according to DIN 31694.

Cast Iron Tin based

Depending on intended installation, the

bearings can be altered to support both

axial and radial loads.

All bearing designs offer a variety of

lubrication and cooling executions to

ensure that the bearings are fully prepared

for its field of usage.

The seals in the housing are manufactured

according to different IP protection grades

to suit the specific installation.

Upon request the bearings can be

electrically insulated to prevent any

complications caused by electrical currents.(In such cases earth grounding connections

should be installed.)

Cast Iron Tin based

Installation of additional equipment such as

oil level sight glass and PT-100 sensors is

made possible as the bearings are already

prepared for this as well.

Together with the inspection cover and

optional thermometers the Industrial

bearings offers complete monitoring of oil

levels and temperatures.

If required the bearing housing material can

be changed, e.g. if higher resistance is

needed due to higher loads.

All in all Wärtsilä’s Industrial bearings are

completely designed according to the

customers requirements or application

needs.

Installation

Depending on type of bearing and execution the

installation may vary but all Wärtsilä’s Industrial

bearings are split and self-aligning, radially and

axially.

The lower half of the bearing is fixated and the

shaft is placed in the bottom of the bearing

surface. Fit the oil ring around the shaft and

mount the upper part of the bearing surface.

Complete by assembling the upper half of the

housing.
