OHS INDUCTION & TRAINING AWARENESS Have you completed your OHS Re- What is a local OHS inducon? A local OHS inducon introduces personnel to building emergency response contacts and procedures, local hazards, risk management, incident reporng, security arrangements, consultaon and university OHS policy and procedures. It is separate from the University HR inducon conducted by Supervisors and is a legal requirement that needs to be recorded. See I8 Form for further informaon. Local OHS inducon is required when: Each new staff/student*/visitor** commences with UoM, or • Exisng staff/student/visitor are relocated to a new work environment, or • The exisng work environment and/or work acvies are significantly altered Local inducons are conducted by the MSPS OHS Advisor. * Student is commonly (but not limited to) a post graduate student who works unsupervised ** Visitor is a person who works (e.g. conducng research) unsupervised for a period <3 months including contractors Quesons and feedback: please contact [email protected] – MSPS OHS Advisor For more informaon visit: http://go.unimelb.edu.au/nzn6 What is OHS training? Separate to the face-to-face OHS Inducon, there are two addional categories of online training modules: Mandatory: required by all University staff and post-graduate students. Task-specific: designed to prepare you for the specific condions of your nominated work area as determined during the face-to- face OHS Inducon. Are you compliant? • If you haven’t aended an OHS inducon, contact the MSPS OHS Advisor. • If you have completed your inducon but not your online OHS training then do so as soon as possible. For further details, refer to the OHS Inducon Welcome email. Compleon Timeframe? All OHS training must be completed within the first six weeks of commencement. Supervisors are also informed about OHS training requirements and are tasked with ensuring that OHS compliance is maintained.
