The Office of Policy Development (OPD) assists the OJJDP Administrator in coordinating national policy on juvenile justice.

OPD advises the Administrator on policy and legal issues and how OJJDP can best accomplish its mission.

OPD also provides leadership and direction for OJJDP’s research and training and technical assistance efforts and oversees the agency’s communications and planning activities.
