IMPORTANT - GREEK COMMUNITY SAFETY
Greek Community!
With the Greek Moratorium coming to an end and organizations having the opportunity to host wet events starting tonight, our of=ice wanted to provide you with a few safety reminders and tips: • All organizational events must be
registered and approved with our of=ice through the SERF Form system (http://serf.sdes.ucf.edu/form). Additionally, if an event is being held on campus it may require a SAFE Form (http://safe.sdes.ucf.edu/) depending on the number of attendees, food and drink associated with the event, activities, etc.
• If you are having a wet event, you must provide the Of=ice of Fraternity and Sorority Life with a guest list that includes all members who are attending the event, their dates, and members' and dates' PIDs (you may use a birth date for guests who do not attend UCF).
• Your guest list must also indicate your sober monitors. 10% of your membership in attendance at a wet event must serve as sober monitors.
• Group Responsibility: Please keep in mind that the actions of one individual (active or inactive) may impact the entire chapter. It is important to review risk management procedures and guidelines with your chapter members before each event (wet or dry) in order to set expectations. Periodic education on the topic of Group Responsibility should occur even if events aren't
planned as your members represent your organization even at unsanctioned chapter events.
• Wet events do not have to be at bars. The majority of our members are under 21 and cannot drink. Why not try having a social at a venue that isn't centered around alcohol but serves alcohol? Some great examples include a Magic game, Solar Bears game, Orlando City soccer game, Whirly Dome, The Great Escape Room, or the Disney Dine in Movie Theater. If you need additional ideas feel free to contact other chapters or Olivia Escalona ([email protected]), our Coordinator of Risk Prevention.
• Alcohol Emergency Plan (AEP): Students who seek medical help for themselves or others, due to alcohol consumption, may not receive disciplinary action for Alcohol Beverages Violations. AEP incidents will not result in a disciplinary record with the university; however UCF PD and other law enforcement agencies still have the right to enforce the law. Bottom line: you are your brother's/sister's keeper. If someone needs help, get them the help they need to make sure they are safe.
Please email Olivia if you have any questions or concerns. Have a great weekend!

SIGMA LAMBDA GAMMASince Feb 18th 2001, Sigma Lambda Gamma has continued to leave an incredible impression on the UCF community. Their charter week, “50 Shades of Gamma”, is designed to incorporate the sorority values of community service, social interaction, morals and ethics, academics, and culture awareness.
The week began with a community service featuring the Boys and Girls Club of Central Florida. The FIRM family consisting of Phi Beta Sigma , Zeta Phi Beta, Sigma Lambda Beta and of course Sigma Lambda Gamma organized a field day for the afterschool program. Day two, “50 Shades of Empowerment”, was dedicated to academics and features a workshop on professionalism in conjunction with career services here on campus. On February 18th, the Iota Beta chapter charter day, consisted of an incredible presentation of strolling and stepping by the Greek community. Thursday’s principle event was dedicated to morals and ethics and featured UCF health services, Victim Services and Faravilla adult store. Here attendees were able to learn about healthy relationships, sexual health and more. The last day consisted of the Iota Beta Chapter annual Gammas Got Culture event. This event enlightened the UCF community of the many culture represented within chapter. In reflection the Iota Beta chapters “50 Shades of Gamma” week was an incredible success.
