Opening a Word Document and an Excel Workbook• Open the Weekly Sales Memorandum
Word document, which is located on your Data Disk
• If necessary, click the Normal View button in the lower-left corner of the screen
• Click the blank line at the bottom of the document
• Open the Weekly Sales Summary Excel file, which is located on your Data Disk

Linking an Excel Worksheet and Chart to a Word Document• With the Excel window active, select the
range A1:G28 on the Weekly Sales Summary sheet
• Click the Copy button to copy the selected range to the Office Clipboard
• Click the Weekly Sales Memorandum program button on the Windows taskbar to activate the Word window
• Click Edit on the menu bar

Linking an Excel Worksheet and Chart to a Word Document• Click Paste Special on the Edit menu
• When the paste Special dialog box appears, click Paste link in the Source area, and then click Microsoft Office Excel Worksheet Object in the As list
• Click the OK button

• With the Word window active, click the Print button on the Standard toolbar
• Click File on the menu bar and then click Save As
• Type Weekly Sales Memorandum 12-19-2005 in the File name text box
• Click the Save button

• Right-click the Excel program button on the Windows taskbar and then click Close on the shortcut menu

• Start Excel and open the Weekly Sales Summary workbook located on the Data Disk in drive A
• When Excel displays the Weekly Sales Summary workbook, click cell E7 and then enter 500000 as the new value for the Telesales unit in Detroit
• Click the Save button on the Standard toolbar and then click the Close button on the right side of the Excel title bar

• Start Word and open the Weekly Sales Memorandum 12-19-2005 document located on the Data Disk in drive A
• When the Microsoft Office Word dialog box appears, click the Yes button to update links
• Click the Close button on the right side of the Word title bar
• When the Microsoft Office Word dialog box appears, click the No button

• Click Reply on the shortcut menu
