PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE
Thank you all for a successful changeover evening. Marion organised the table settings and on the evening was helped by some of the Ann’s, thank you for that. The slide show that Tony set up was full of wonderful photographs of the year. Of course the year is not quite finished yet and we still have the Cronin award night which will be a partner’s night as well. We try and space them out but the two Griffith evenings, the PHF evening and the Changeover all have to happen around the same time so it is an expensive couple of months. I was especially pleased to be able to present Paul Boles his PHF because it highlights the fact the Foundation recognises a donation of $1000.00 by making that person a Paul Harris Fellow. Although many countries like to give it out as an award (certainly in days gone by) it really is simply recognition of that donation. Our Constitution will have to be amended in the new year as the new rules from the Council of Legislation come through and one of them is the concept that if a member is involved in a project for a certain number of hours per month that will count towards attendance. Banking the proceeds from the Carousel and doing a spreadsheet of weekly takings takes up a fair amount of Paul’s time, which we all appreciate. As I mentioned in the report to Council, there is far more to the Carousel than simply manning it for three hours at a time. See you next week. Andrew TREASURER’S REPORT Merv Powell NOTE: All members who fail to send in an apology for non-attendance will be charged as per our club policy, which was agreed by all members at previous club assemblies. Fines $74.30 Billy $
