The possession of, or progress towards, an appropriate tertiary level academic qualification will be considered a factor,increasing in importance with the level of classification, when determining efficiency of applicants in the Clerical Division .
(a) Applications also called outside the Service under section 24 .(b) Applicants must be eligible for membership of the Institution of Engineers, Australia .(c) Plus district and relieving allowance as applicable .(d) University degree preferred or other relevant qualifications or experience in an appropriate field considered . Possession
of a current driver's licence essential.(e) The Relieving District Officer will be based at a country divisional office and required to undertake relief duties within
that Division or throughout the State as directed . Divisional Offices are located at Derby, Port Hedland, Geraldton, Bunbury,Kalgoorlie and Narrogin. Departmental vehicles will be available for use on official business, and accommodation may beprovided. The range of duties is wide, involving work with dependent and neglected children ; family case work ; reporting incases of Children's Court proceedings ; preventive social work ; adoptions ; fostering and other Court investigations .
(f) Plus district allowance where applicable .(g) Registration as a builder or equivalent qualifications to supervise all phases of building work . Considerable experience
essential .(h) Applicants must have at least two years' programming experience .(i) Applicants must be prepared to be stationed anywhere within the State, including the North West . Housing can be
provided in most country areas .(j) Associate of the Library Association of Australia .(k) LOCATION : The successful applicant will be located in Perth but will be required to travel throughout the State as
necessary .(1) Applicants must possess a Certificate of Electrical Drafting of the Perth Technical College or other approved equivalent
qualification, and a minimum of four years' practical experience or equivalent .(m) LOCATION : Perth .(n) Applicants must possess a Certificate in Structural Drafting from the Perth Technical College or equivalent, and have
a minimum of four years' practical experience or equivalent .(o) Diploma in Engineering Surveying of Technical Education Division of W.A. Education Department or approved
equivalent, plus a minimum of five years' experience since completion of the academic course .(p) LOCATION : Based in Perth, with survey duties anywhere in the State . Applicants must be prepared to make fre-
quent visits to the field, requiring absence from Perth for periods up to one month at a time . Camping and travelling allow-ances payable when away from Perth .
(q) Tertiary degree in Chemistry, higher qualifications desirable. Considerable experience required in analysis and researchin agricultural chemistry and in administration of an analytical and consultant laboratory .
(r) Progression through the Library Assistant range, shall be subject to successful completion each year, in units in theAssociateship in Library Studies .
(s) Applicants should possess a Leaving Certificate with University matriculation or W .A.I.T. matriculation and beeligible to undertake a recognised course of Library Studies.
(t) University degree, preferably with honours, and training or post graduate experience in petrology.(u) Member of the Institute of Australian Photography and Certificate in Photography, or equivalent qualification .(v) Minimum of Leaving Certificate in four subjects including English and Mathematics, or equivalent qualifications .
Preference will be given to applicants with experience in, and a knowledge of, building and construction industry, particularlyin the area of home building .
(w) Pre-requisite : Royal Society of Health Diplomas in1. Health2. Meat and Other Foods3. Progress towards the R .S.H. Diplomas in Health Technology .

Applicants for this position must have attainedmatriculation standard and be prepared to proceedtowards an Associateship or Bachelor Degree coursein Applied Science, Metallurgy or Engineering atthe W.A. Institute of Technology. If a candidateshould already have embarked on such a course,so much the better .The salary range for a Technical Assistant is
related to the classification of G-VII-1/3 in theState Public Service, i .e ., $1860 per annum at age15 years to $4 025 per annum at age 20 years . Onreaching the age of 21 years, a Technical Assistantis promoted to Technical Officer ($5 853-$8 096 perannum) provided he has reached an approvedacademic level (a completed full-time first yearcourse) .
On the attainment of Diploma level, a TechnicalOfficer may be further promoted to a higher salaryrange ($8 534-$9 263 per annum) .On completing a degree or associateship the
officer may proceed to Level 1 of the ScientificOfficers' Agreement (maximum $9 263 per annum) .

INDUSTRIAL AND COMMERCIAL EMPLOYEES'HOUSING AUTHORITY .

Authority and will be responsible for the usualsecretarial functions. The Secretary will be re-quired to discuss proposals with participatingemployers and reach firm arrangements on withinpolicy decisions determined beforehand for con-firmation by the Authority .
The Authority is set up to assist in the provisionof housing for industrial and commercial ventureseither by way of direct provision of housing fromits own funds or by guarantees for private borrow-ing for housing finance . Construction and main-tenance will be done for the Authority by theState Housing Commission .The successful applicant must have a high
degree of initiative, a capacity to accept changeand innovation, sound knowledge of Governmentand private sector financing, an ability to assembleand analyse a range of relevant facts, and willing-ness to travel throughout the State .
The successful applicant will be appointed on aseconded basis and will retain all rights andprivileges under the Public Service Act .

STATE HOUSING COMMISSION .

1 . In these regulations the Vehicle Standards Regulations, 1965,published in the Government Gazette on the 30th December, 1965,and amended from time to time thereafter by notices so published,are referred to as the principal regulations .
2 . The principal regulations are amended by adding after regu-lation 1008 the following regulation :-

(a) passenger car and derivative thereof manufactured onand after the 1st January, 1974 ;
(b) multi-purpose passenger car manufactured on andafter the 1st January, 1974 ;
(c) petrol engined vehicle, other than a motor cycle anda specially constructed vehicle, manufactured on andafter the 1st July, 1974 ; and
(d) motor vehicle, other than a specially constructedvehicle, manufactured on and after the 1st July, 1975,
shall, at the time of first registration, conform to AustralianDesign Rule No . 28-Motor Vehicle Noise .

3. Regulation 1009 of the principal regulations is amended-amended .
(a) by deleting the words "this regulation" in lines one andtwo of subregulation (3) and substituting the passage "sub-regulations (1) and (2) of this regulation" ; and
(b) by adding after subregulation (3) the following sub-regulation :-
(3a) Every-(a) passenger car and derivative thereof manufactured
on and after the lst January, 1974 ;(b) multi-purpose passenger car manufactured on and
after the 1st January, 1974 ; and(c) other motor vehicle, except-
(i) a motor cycle ;(ii) an omnibus ;(iii) a specially constructed vehicle ; and(iv) a motor vehicle of which the gross vehicle
weight exceeds 4 .5 tonnes,manufactured on and after the 1st July, 1974,
shall, at the time of first registration, be fitted with seatbelts that conform to Australian Design Rule 4A-SeatBelts .
