The University of AdelaideA world-class teaching and research institution situated in the heart of one of the world’s most liveable cities*.

The University of Adelaide unites and serves those striving to change the world—and themselves—for the better. It’s a place where history is made.

Established in 1874, we’re home to over 29,000 students and 3,000 staff, all striving to create progress. For our community. For all.

This is a university of outstanding quality—ranked among the top 1% globally—in the heart of Australia’s most liveable city*.

We’ve made a habit of breaking new ground. We were our country’s first university to welcome female students. The first to offer degrees in science and business. The first with a conservatorium of music.

Among those who’ve studied, taught, or conducted research here are five Nobel Laureates; Australia’s first female prime minister; the first Australian astronaut to walk in space; Australia’s first female Supreme Court judge.

And our bold spirit continues to drive us to excel today. In research, we’re rising to challenges in a huge range of fields—with work universally rated world-standard or above^. While in education, we’re recognised among the top 100 universities globally in 23 different subject areas†.

We can’t wait to see what’s next.

Global research impact The University of Adelaide is committed to conducting world-class research with global, real-world impact. A member of Australia’s prestigious Group of Eight research-intensive universities, we enhance and sustain life for people and planet by addressing the world’s most significant challenges. Our areas of particular strength include: food and wine; defence and security; health and medicine; engineering and technology; life sciences; mining and energy; and the environment.

For independent rental the bond is lodged with the State Government and will be reimbursed when you move out, provided there is no damage to the property and no outstanding rent or bills. You also need to give a minimum amount of notice if you decide to leave your accommodation. *Prices are current at the time of printing and may be subject to change.

If you're under 18 years old we need to take extra care of you. Your choices are marked with this symbol

Independent accommodation Independent rental can be a great option once you know your way around Adelaide. It can also be less expensive, particularly if you’re sharing with other people.

Visit www.realestate.com.au and select ‘rent’.

Be careful that you fully understand the terms of an independent rental contract. This type of accommodation is not arranged by Eynesbury. We do not recommend independent rental unless you’re already living in Adelaide and feel confident to find your own accommodation.

$200+ per week for 1 bedroom, 1 bathroom. $400+ for a larger house.

Most rental properties are not furnished. You will need to buy furniture, cutlery, crockery, bed linen, towels and electrical equipment. You will also need to cover the cost of the electricity, gas and water for the house, plus your own food costs and public transport (if in suburban area).
