Karate as a martial art is designed for people of both genders and all walks of life. Children
especially enjoy karate’s brisk physical activity, and parents appreciate the discipline it
instills in them. Virtually all men, women and children who participate find the physical fitness
and mental discipline required to develop skill in the art of karate have a deep and lasting
influence in many aspects of their daily life. It is perhaps an ideal way to diminish the effects
of stress and tension in contemporary lifestyles.

Mr. Frattini is a 3rd Dan Black Belt in Chito-Ryu Karate and has practiced martial arts for over
thirty years. He has traveled and trained extensively and has had the opportunity to live in Japan
and train directly under Soke Sensei, Tsuyoshi Chitose. Mr. Frattini instructs at various dojos,
practices mixed martial arts, and also teaches self-defense courses for men, women and children.
He has won, participated, placed and refereed tournaments.
Mr. Frattini’s experiences as a parent, summer camp owner, general education teacher, basic
skills instructor, special education teacher, English teacher in Japan, elementary school
instructional supervisor, middle school vice-principal, elementary school principal, karate school
co-owner/instructor and certified international martial arts instructor make him an ideal
candidate to develop and instruct any martial arts program.

街舞初级班(Hip Hop Beginner)

课程介绍:
街舞起源于黑人街头即兴舞步,充满个人风格。本课程会教授各类街舞基本动作练习。街舞动作是由各
种走、跑、跳组合而成,并通过头、颈、肩、上肢、躯干等关节的屈伸、转动、绕环、摆振、波浪形扭
动等 连贯组合而成的,各个动作都有其特定的健身效果,既注意了上肢与下肢、腹部与背部、头部与
躯干动作的协调,又注意了组成各环节各部分独立 运动。跳街舞使人注意力集中,能培养一个人的意
志力,也可使大脑想念力,创造力发挥到极致。街舞的动作优美随意,最吸引人之处是以全身的活力带
来热情澎湃的感觉,经常练习还可增强全身 协调性。

艺术体操是融体操、舞蹈、音乐于一体的追求人体健与美的运动项目,具有高度的艺术性。表演艺术体

提高了艺术修养。而表演艺术艺术体操不同于赛场比赛,而是以艺术体操为基 础结合现代舞蹈语汇以
表演为主题,为儿童提供一个形体训练、音乐熏陶、日常健美的课程。练习艺术体操可以提高心肺功
能,改善身体有氧代谢能力,练习肌肉控 制,改善不良姿态,培养良好气质风度。少儿班使用呼拉
圈、球、绳、带等进行训练,以表演艺术体操为主。
演讲与辩论-英文

Getting involved in forensics and learning the art of argumentation has major benefits, both short term and long term. The purpose of this short description is to provide background and benefit of debate, and a general course description.
What does debate involve?
Debate is a structured argument between opposing sides on a resolution, ie. topic. Debaters will have ample time to research and write cases for both sides concerning the resolution. Debate is split up into two main categories, Lincoln Douglas and Public Forum.
Lincoln-Douglas debate places a heavy emphasis on logic, ethical values, and philosophy. It is a one on one debate and is highly paced and technical. Resolutions range from gun control, medical choices to promoting democracy in the Middle East.
Public Forum debate focuses on current events. It is a two on two debate and is slower and less technical, made to be understandable to the layman. Resolutions range from carbon taxes, standardized testing to paying reparations to African Americans.
Why do Debate?
This course will offer great insight into debate and will prepare students for forensics in high school, giving them a head start on others. However, this course is not just to prepare students for high school debate. Debate has extensive benefits that will last throughout one’s life.
First and foremost, debate will improve communication and speaking skills. It allows debaters to make more friends in school, to feel comfortable talking to teachers and school administrators, to give public speeches with ease, to give a better impression in college interviews, and more. Debaters learn vital argumentation skills that will improve school essays and everyday interaction.
Further, debate builds character. Through preparation for debate, students not only gain abundant knowledge on current events and ethical values, but also learn discipline, teamwork, and adaptation to performing at various environments.
Lastly, debate will have many benefits for the Asian American community. It is vital for helping Asian Americans break through the stereotypes of silence and weakness. Better advocacy and speaking skills is also a great tool for more Asian representation in government, entertainment, and media.
What does this course include?
This course aims to expose students to the basic aspects of debate, and to teach valuable knowledge that will allow students to go into high school debate teams with confidence and expertise.
● The curriculum will start off by teaching speaking skills, a fundamental aspect of debate that will allow debaters to win over judges. ● The course will then move on to debate fundamentals, which will provide a foundation for both formats of debate. ● The program will devote significant amount of time to teaching both Lincoln Douglas and Public Forum to students. Students who have experience in both forms will not be blindly choosing one when they enter high school. This course will give students the head start and the edge they need to beat opponents during their debate careers.
Finally, debate is not about winning, but about compromise--the life skill of convincing others and reaching a resolution.

This math enrichment class opens the door to problem solving, a critical thinking and
analytical skill that is frequently inadequately emphasized in schools. This class is
beneficial to students who enjoy math, are interested in logical thinking, are curious
about math tricks that allow them to provide answers in different ways, and want to
participate in math competitions at their own pace. The textbook will be “Art of
Problem Solving, Vol. 1: The Basics”.

Eugene Xu is a Co-founder of LibreMax currently in charge of the firm-wide
quantitative analysis and risk management. Prior to co-founding LibreMax, Dr. Xu was a
Managing Director in ABS Trading at Deutsche Bank. Dr. Xu started his career at
Deutsche Bank in March 2000, first as the Head of Deutsche Bank’s Residential Real
Estate Asset Backed Securities Research and as the Head of ABS Trading Strategy and
Quantitative Modeling. Dr. Xu was also a Visiting Research Member for the Institute
for Advanced Study, in Princeton, New Jersey. In Michael Lewis’ best seller, The Big
Short, Eugene is “the second smartest man in China”. Eugene holds a BSc and an MSc
in Mathematics from Fudan University in Shanghai, China and holds a PhD from
University of California, Los Angeles.

正在上物理课的高中生,或 8年级以上还未选物理课,但有很强数学基础,有兴趣提前接触物理学科内

课程介绍:
这门课既可作为物理 SAT 考试的准备课,也和作为物理竞赛(奥物和物理杯)的准备课,及物理课的辅导
班,进度与高校物理课大致相同。学生学习/复习关键概念,训练解多项概念选择题和开放式练习题的
能力。
The students in this class will learn/review the key concepts in all topics of high school
physics, and practice solving conceptual and open-ended physics problems. The course is
mostly in sync with the course progress in regular high school classes. It will prepare
students for the SAT physics subject test in June. Students interested in participating in
the Physics Olympiad contest in late January and the PhysicsBowl contest in early April
can also benefit from the class.
