Jim looked at the list of after–school clubs. He didn't know which one to choose this year. The art club was popular. He had tried it with his friend two years ago, but he wasn't very good at drawing. He loved to act, but he felt nervous speaking in front of a lot of people. "Perhaps I'll try the drama club," he thought to himself, "I've never tried it before."
His brother, Mark, came into his room. "Are you going to join the sports club this year?" he asked. "I haven't tried it. Have you?" "Yes," replied Jim, "I liked it." Then he saw something interesting.
"What about community spirit?" he asked Mark. "I've never done anything like this before." He read aloud: "We need people to help in the community. Activities include cleaning up the park, visiting elderly people and planting a community garden." Mark sighed. "It sounds boring," he said, "Let's join the sports club!"
Jim shook his head. "You join the sports club,” he said, "I want to try something new!"
