Thirtieth Sunday in Ordinary Time| Trigésimo Domingo del Tiempo Ordinario

One Body with Many Members

We are One in Christ. We are One together at

St. Peter’s. To the Catholic Community and to Fr.

Raul and the staff of St. Peter’s, we, the Catholic

Deaf Community feel so very welcome. This past

July, Fr. Raul reminded us, that we are home. St. Peter’s is our

home. We were an active part of St Peter’s in the ’80’s, then we

were transferred to another parish in the Archdiocese. This

year we return to St. Peter’s. Fr Raul told us, we are not renters.

We are not visitors. We are not guests. We are family. We are a

Catholic family. Our languages may seem to divide us, but we

share the same bible, the same feast at the Lord’s table, and the

same creed. Together we are One in Christ. This warm

welcome has been felt over and over as the Catholic Deaf

Community has moved back to the parish. We have been

reminded that, Hearing or Deaf, Speaking or signing, English,

or Spanish, or American Sign Language, We are One Body

with Many members. We are so excited to have a church home

with a church office, a place for youth group, a meeting space

with storage for our liturgical resources, and a priest who can

sign Mass for us. All ready we are worshiping together. We

have found little ways of contributing our gifts and labors to

St. Peter’s. And we are sharing our languages with each other

as we learn Spanish and Signs to say “Hello”, “Thank You”,

and “Peace-with-you.” Thank you Fr. Raul, Arnie, Dinorah,

and the members of St. Peters for your warm, warm invitation

to come home. Hallelujah. We are One in the Lord.

Un cuerpo con muchos miembros Somos Uno en Cristo. Somos Uno juntos en San Pedro. A la

comunidad católica y al Padre Raúl y el personal de San Pedro

nosotros, la comunidad católica de sordo mudos nos sentimos muy bienvenidos. El pasado julio, el Padre Raúl nos recordó

que estamos en casa. San Pedro es nuestro hogar. Fuimos parte activa de San Pedro en los años 80, luego fuimos

transferidos a otra parroquia en la Arquidiócesis. Este año

regresamos a San Pedro. El padre Raúl nos dijo que no somos inquilinos. No somos visitantes No somos huéspedes. Somos

familia. Somos una familia católica. Nuestros idiomas parecen dividirnos, pero compartimos la misma biblia, la misma fiesta

en la mesa del Señor y el mismo credo. Juntos somos Uno en

Cristo. Esta cálida la bienvenida se ha sentido una y otra vez como la comunidad sordo mudo ha regresado a la parroquia.

Hemos sido recordamos que, Mudos o Sordo, Hablando Inglés,

o Español, o Lenguaje de Señas Americano, Somos un Cuerpo

con Muchos miembros. Estamos muy emocionados de tener un

hogar en la iglesia con una oficina, un lugar para grupos de jóvenes, un espacio para reuniones. Un espacio para guardar

nuestros recursos litúrgicos y un sacerdote que puede celebrar

la Misa con nosotros. Hemos encontrado pequeñas formas de contribuir con nuestros dones y labores para San Pedro. Y

estamos compartiendo nuestros idiomas entre nosotros mientras aprendemos español y signos para decir "Hola",

"Gracias" y "Paz-con-usted". Gracias Fr. Raúl, Arnie, Dinorah y

los miembros de St. Peters por su cálida invitación para volver a casa. Aleluya. Somos uno en el Señor.

Thirtieth Sunday in Ordinary Time: In this Sunday’s Gospel we find the truth that

loving God isn’t merely a matter of fervor in

our hearts, but that it must be expressed in doing

good for the sake of others.

This month, through your gifts, the Society of St. Vincent

de Paul was able to show that we indeed love our neighbors

by assisting families, providing food, utility and rent bills.

Trigésimo Domingo del Tiempo Ordinario En el Evangelio de este Domingo encontramos la

verdad de que amar a Dios no es sólo una cuestión de

fervor en nuestros corazones, sino que debe expresarse

en hacer el bien solamente por el bien de los demás.

Este mes, a través de sus donaciones, la Sociedad de San

Vicente de Paúl pudo demostrar que de verdad amamos a

nuestros semejantes ayudando a familias, proporcionando

comida, y para pagos de servicios públicos y de alquiler.

Priesthood Sunday, is a special day set aside to honor the priesthood in the United States. It is a day to reflect upon and affirm the role of the priesthood in the life of the Church as a central one. We honor

and pray especially for our dear Father Raúl for being our shepherd and guide here at St. Peter.

El Domingo del Sacerdocio es un día especial reservado

para honrar el sacerdocio en los Estados Unidos. Es un

día para reflexionar y afirmar el papel del sacerdocio en

la vida de la Iglesia central. Honramos y

Baptism Class November 1st will be the last baptism class for the rest of the year. There will be a series of classes prior to Baptism or if you are going to be a Godparent to someone in the upcoming year. We will no longer do pre-baptismal classes each month. More information will be posted. Clase de Bautismo El 1 de noviembre será la última clase de bautismo para el resto del año.
