SPACER LIFT

Which lift kit is right for me?This is another MAJOR question every new Jeep owner asks. Honestly it is one of the tougher

questions to answer. Only you know which one is right for you. But, let’s go over the three main types of lift kits available.

1. The Spacer lift. This is exactly what it sounds like. Very simply this is a rubber spacer that is placed on top of each coil and will lift your Jeep 1”-3” depending on which set of spacers you pick out. This type of lift is great for those that don’t want to spend a lot of money, and don’t do any major off roading. It will let you add larger tires and sit a little higher as you cruise around the mall. These kits average about $150-$300.

2. Suspension Lift. This kit is still very easy to install, and can be done using hand tools in a garage in a couple of hours. The big advantage here is you usually get new coils, shocks and brackets that correct the geometry in your Jeep so it still maintains that factory ride. These lifts range from 2.5”-4” and run anywhere from $350-$1,800 depending on which brand you pur-chase. These are more aggressive lifts and allow you to get into some serious off roading.

3. Long Arm Kits. These kits are the MOST expensive, but well worth it! The majority of these are still bolt on kits, but come with all new suspension parts. Very little of the factory set up is used on one of these kits. They get their name from the longer upper and lower control arms that provide your Jeep with the capabilities of the tires traveling further. In other words... You can drive over bigger obstacles easier! These kits are mainly 4”-6” and start about $2,000 and go WAY up from there.

Most of us dream about one day going to a long arm kit, but 90% of us end just running a suspension lift or spacers. Make sure and do your own research and see which one best fits your needs and your budget!
