Border Infrastructure Coordination Mechanisms • Recommendations for new bi-national mechanism to coordinate

border infrastructure and/or trade corridors (e.g. Brookings; U.S. & Canadian Chambers of Commerce; Council of the Federation)

• Currently, Canada Border Services Agency, U.S. Customs and Border Protection and U.S. General Services Administration coordinate & share information as needed with each other and provinces/states/municipalities

• Transport Canada coordinates with Ontario, Michigan DOT and U.S DOT on Detroit River International Crossing

• States and provinces coordinate border related transportation infrastructure

• TBWG a primary forum for bi-national multi-agency information exchange and consultation

• Regional organizations (e.g. International Mobility and Trade Corridor) coordinate at regional level

• Both Canada and U.S. making significant investments in border infrastructure
