October 2016 Children’s Center News (See other side..) MONTHLY GARDEN UPDATES THANK YOU to all staff members, parents, family and volunteers who came out and supported our Garden Work Day on Saturday 9/17. The first gardening day of the school year is particularly arduous because it involves lots of clearing of plots and weeding. We had an amazing crew who not only cleared all big garden beds, but, under the watchful eyes of Bryanna and Barbara, cleared, amended and spruced up the I/T/YP gardens for Jean Barbre's photo shoot on the 29 th -- the gardens are beautiful! Our Preschool wing classrooms will now begin to make weekly plans for their classrooms and children to explore, experiment, share ideas, and learn in the outdoor classroom! Our next garden work day, on Oct 15 th , will be a very busy one! Not only do we need things done in our garden, but we also need plenty of other work done throughout the center. We have many building projects, so we are requesting Dad’s and all other strong, hardworking family members to join! Also, we need to get ready for our upcoming Fall Literacy Night, (because that is where our children will find their hidden pumpkins, shhh!)... it’s coming up fast, on November 4 th , so mark your calendars.
