Oh What a Night!!!Oh What a Night!!! The first ever BSO Charity Dinner Dance, in aid of the NI Hospice, was held on Thursday 2nd
October at the Wellington Park Hotel.
Stephen Clements from Citybeat (above, left) was our host for the night, and what wonderful job he
did keeping the guests laughing. David Bingham welcomed everybody and thanked those involved
in organising the event and all of the businesses who very kindly donated raffle prizes. Ellen Hillen,
from NI Hospice, spoke about the work of the Hospice, and how events like this provide valuable
resources to the NI Hospice for those most in need.
To start the night’s entertainment, we had dancers from the McGowan Dance Academy (above,
right) who put on an excellent performance, providing both traditional and modern Irish dancing.
Following a wonderful meal, The Bizz commenced playing with no-one needing any encouragement
to get up and dance the night away.

The most important thing about the Charity Dinner Dance was that we were able to have a great night
out knowing, at the same time, we were raising money for a very worthwhile charity. We are pleased
to say we have raised £2,840, with just over £1,000 being raised on the night from the raffle alone -
not bad for our first event!!
A great night’s craic and entertainment was had by all - the photos below speak for themselves.
Now the planning starts for next year’s dinner dance- a Friday night this time in October 2015. Details
will follow soon, so there should be no excuse as you can start saving now and you don’t need to book
The core ITS Electronic Care Record Implementation Team in BSO won
the ehealth INSIDER (EHI)2014 award for best use of IT to support
integrated healthcare services. They form part of a wider HSC project,
that includes clinicians, EHealth HSCB, PHA and HSC Trusts, that has
successfully introduced the Electronic Care Record in Northern Ireland.
This category is designed to reward outstanding informatics work which enables information to be
shared safely, legally and ethically across boundaries within healthcare organisations and between
agencies providing patient care.

BSO Payments Bake Sale for Guide BSO Payments Bake Sale for Guide Dogs NIDogs NI
The BSO Payments team in Ballymena held a
bake sale on 8th October, and Rebecca
Harper from Guide Dogs NI and her dog Zeta
came down to visit. Zeta was a 16 month old
pup who has been through one-third of her
training (although she was still chancing her
paw at the bun snatching). The morning was
a success and the team raised around
£300.00.
