SECONDCOLLECTION THIS SUNDAY - WORLD MISSION SUNDAY

This Sunday, October 20, the Church, as “one family in mission,”celebrates World Mission Sunday. At the Eucharistic celebration that day, the faithful of the world unite in recommitment to our Baptismal promises to be missionaries, to share our faith. Making that“difference” for our brothers and sisters in the Missions is what World Mission Sunday is all about. That day, in the context of the Eucharist, we offer our prayers, our sacrifices and our financial help to the Society for the Propagation of the Faith for the support of missionaries in Africa, Asia, the Pacific Islands and remote regions of Latin America. We offer that help so that the work of missionaries can continue – the task of telling the world the “Good News” of God’s great love for every person. Please be generous. God Bless.

V garáži už platiť nebudete, len dajte zamestnancovi opečiatkovaný lístok, a farnosť potom uhradí poplatok priamo garáži. Každý, kto parkuje počas sv. omše na parkovisku vedľa kostola, nech nechá na papieriku za predným sklom auta svoje telefónne číslo na mobil, aby sa mu mohli dovolať tí, ktorí budú potrebovať skôr odísť.

MUSIC MINISTRY Do you love to sing? Contact Mark Pacoe at

212-734-4613 x116 or [email protected], or Austin Philemon at [email protected] for more information.

MINISTRY OF HOSPITALITY We are building our Ministry of Hospitality (formerly our Ushers and Greeters). Please contact Judy Quintana at [email protected] if you would like to join in this ministry.

If you are interested in offering a Mass for someone, please call the Parish Office during regular hours at 212-734-4613 or stop by in person at 411 East 66th Street - near First Ave.

ALTAR SERVERS If your child would like to become an altar server, please contact Guenther Gross via email at [email protected]. We especially need servers for our 10:30am Sunday Mass.

ST. ANNE’S CIRCLE FOR CHRISTIAN SERVICE St. Anne’s Circle is a parish group based on Roosevelt Island. It has been formed to assist our clergy with our community outreach to the sick and those in need of prayer. Participants pray the rosary for our priests and for our parish, assist Fr. Ronelo with small tasks for our homebound and in-hospital parishioners, and support the sacristans to make our church setting welcoming and clean. Please see Regina Robinson or Judy Quintana following either the 8:30am or 10:30am Mass on Sunday.

PASTORAL COUNCIL The Pastoral Council’s purpose is to serve as an advisory board to the pastor to help develop liturgical and social ministries, as well as stewardship and fundraising for our growing community. Its focus is on the revitalization and reorganization of the Ministry of Hospitality (formerly Ushers/Greeters), lector training and development, outreach to the seemingly transient resident population of Roosevelt Island, and cultural and musical outreach events at St. Frances. Within the past three years we’ve had much progress in pastoral and professional leadership and the groundbreaking and “autonomous” use of our new facilities. Please continue to pray for those serving on the Pastoral Council. There are positive developments all around us. Please continue to stay involved in parish life by engaging in all of our media resources as well as participating in all of our liturgical and non-liturgical events and celebrations.

Stewardship is an important part of keeping our Parish strong. Your increased donation is an investment in the future of our Parish and we have multiple ways to give to make it as easy as possible. Please consider what you can do to help.

We also offer e-giving through Faith Direct. Giving through Faith Direct is easy in a world where having cash on hand is becoming much less common. It allows you to give how much you want and how often you want – it even includes our 2nd collections. You can charge your donations to a credit or debit card and will automatically receive a tax letter from Faith Direct at the end of the year. For more information go to faithdirect.net. When you are ready, simply click “Give Now” and enter: NY781 for St. John Nepomucene NY782 for St. Frances X. Cabrini Please remember that signing up for Faith Direct does not register you with the Parish.

COFFEE HOUR AT SAINT FRANCES XAVIER CABRINI The coffee hour will be always the second Sunday of every month. The next coffee hour will be the second Sunday of November, November 10 after the 8:30am and 10:30am Mass. Because St. Nicholas will come to visit children at St. Frances X. Cabrini Church on December 8th, the following coffee hour will be on January 12th 2020.

It is always a good time to evaluate ways how you can help the parish. Volunteers are needed in many different areas.
