Greenpeace report Nov. 2019 "Burning Down the House" Actions BLC: Nov-19: Greenpeace reports about allegations of deforestation in various location in Indonesia. Rachmat/Amara palm oil group is alleged to be involved in various fire incidents. Oct-19: RAN reports about continuous deforestation of peat forests in the Leuser Ecosystem’s Singkil-Bengkung Region, which includes the Rawa Singkil Wildlife reserve, the Singkil and Kluet peatlands, and the connecting lowland rainforests. The report lists 2 mills illegally growing palm inside the Rawa Singkil Wildlife Reserve and 11 mills, close to the Region, that risk sourcing from the Singkil-Bengkung region. Bunge requested its trade partners Musim Mas and GAR to require these mills to adhere to Bunge’s NDPE requirements and to ensure a traceability system is in place. GAR confirmed engagement with the 2 mills from the report and require further field verification. They furthermore continuously engage with 7 other mills mentioned in the report to implement TTP. Musim Mas confirmed controlled purchasing of the 2 mills to ensure compliance with NDPE requirements and ongoing engagement with the other suppliers in the Region. Bunge continues to monitor their engagement and outcome of their TTP process. Dec-18: Bunge will no longer accept oil from this supplier. Feb-17: We have informed our trading partners about specific requirements for TH Plantations to ensure they are compliant with our policy. Actions BLC: Jul-19: Bunge received the information that Chiquibul was accused of a palm oil mill effluent spill in July 2019 in a river connected to the San Roman river. A similar situation occurred in March 2017, for which there was no resolution found at that time. Based on this recent allegation Bunge requires Chiquibul to also:

• Cooperate with government investigations and ensure that the results of these investigations are credible and shared with all relevant stakeholders.

• Take all appropriate and necessary action to remediate, if found to be responsible. Any plans for remediation should be designed jointly with affected communities.

• Build trust in the river area via joint water quality monitoring with communities and other local stakeholders.

Jun-19: Bunge engaged with Chiquibul to discuss milestones to demonstrate full compliance with Bunge’s NDPE policy. Bunge expects Chiquibul to:

• Share evidence proper FPIC process, evidence of a labor and HR policy that applies to all workers (including contracted workers) and is properly communicated

• Share evidence of SIA, LUCA and HCV commitment and studies wherever applicable (recent / scheduled developments)

GAR confirmed engagement with the 2 mills from the report and require further field verification. They furthermore continuously engage with 7 other mills mentioned in the report to implement TTP. Musim Mas confirmed controlled purchasing of the 2 mills to ensure compliance with NDPE requirements and ongoing engagement with the other suppliers in the Region. • Dinant has done a lot of effort to facilitate the dialogue with peasant groups living in the communities, one example is the implementation of a Grievance Mechanism.

• Dinant improved relationships with communities via volunteering and CSR activities focusing on Health, Education, Environmental and Safety.

• A large team was installed to facilitate community engagement, safety, health and environmental efforts, and human rights compliance.

• Prosper published a group wide NDPE policy;

• Prosper has divested Bewani, but conducted an in house LUCA and committed to undertake liability for non-compliant clearing;

• Prosper partnered with Earthworm Foundation (EF) to work towards compliance of NDPE criteria and to develop restoration/compensation projects;

• Regular progress updates and time-bound NDPE implementation plan were published;

• Upon recommendation of Bunge, Prosper connected with Global Environmental Center (GEC) to discuss potential recovery plans;

• Bunge received a joint statement for a recovery project as agreed by Prosper and GEC. This recovery plan meets the requirements of Bunge's SPOP.

Prosper had demonstrated it has met Bunge's requirements for re-entry its supply chain. As a result the suspension on Prosper will be lifted.

Feb-20: the Bunge team connected Prosper to Global Environmental Centre (GEC) to discuss a recovery plan for the conservation and rehabilitation of an area in the South East portion of North Selangor Peat Swamp Forest which is located close to Prosper's existing plantation. Sep-19: the first two progress reports on the implementation of its NDPE commitments were produced and shared with stakeholders in July and August. Prosper conducted an in-house LUCA to determine liability of the non-compliant clearing in Bewani. EF guided Prosper in the development of a recovery plan. Jun-19: Prosper published a group wide NDPE policy, commissioned Earthworm Foundation (EF) to assist in developing a remediation and compensation plan, implementing NDPE commitments and monitoring concessions and supply chain. Feb-19: Prosper officially divested Bewani Palm oil Plantation Ltd. (BOPPL) Oct-18: Bunge will no longer accept oil from this supplier. We have informed our trading partners and commercial team accordingly. Jul-17: we have contacted Prosper Group and they confirm no affiliation of Bewani with the Prosper Group. Jun-17: Alleged deforestation Bewani Palm oil. The Tee family, shareholder of the Prosper Group, is said to be linked to Bewani Palm in PNG. Bewani is linked to deforestation without having executed the relevant assessments. BLC team in Malaysia is in contact with Prosper Group on this matter. ___________________________________________

Feb-19: FGV shared a first progress report in response to the milestones. The progress report indicates FGV’s commitment to rectify all mistakes and shortcomings as identified by the RSPO CP and immediate actions taken. FGV furthermore delivered a concrete action to apply the corrective measures across its entire supply chain. Bunge is satisfied with the progress made by FGV so far and will continue to monitor the implementation of the actions from the action plan. Bunge reached out to Genting for further updates. Jul-19: Bunge was informed by Genting that there has been internal management approval to share CSC recent clearing verification results on the ground with stakeholders. Jul-19: Bunge received a Maphubs deforestation report from Mongabay connecting Bunge to some of the mills mentioned in the report. None of the mills are in Bunge’s direct supply chain. We reached out to our trade partners to verify the connections and allegations on the indirectly connected mills. Based on the updates received we concluded the report contained lots of inconsistencies and wrong ownership connections. We therefore consider the case as closed. May-19: ME reports about new deforestation of 175ha in PT Citra Sawit Cemerlang between March 17th and May 15th. Genting shared an official letter to inform Bunge a stop work order is in place. Apr-19: alleged deforestation of 125ha in PT CSC. Bunge already engaged Genting and our intel partners to verify the allegations on PT CSC. Bunge requested Genting for a stop work order while assessment reports are clarified. Oct-18: The BLC team received the confirmation from Genting Plantation that PT PSM has ceased to be part of their Group, after disposal in March 2017. Jun-18: In March Genting disposed PT PSM. The official response of Bumitama states illegal logging activities in the conversation areas are suspected to be the lead cause of the fires. The activity has been reported to the policy and Bumitama commits to rehabilitate all conversation areas as part of the Bumitama Biodiversity and Community Project. Actions BLC: Dec-19: ME reports about deforestation of 39ha in PT Rim Capital. Bunge received information via its trade partner that one of the clearance areas is outside the concession. The other area cleared is within the PT Rim concession on community-owned land. Goodhope has no intention or plan to acquire the land. Based on the observations from the on the ground investigation team the areas were burnt by landfires. The official statement of Goodhope specifies the follow up actions of the company. Sep-19: ME reports about deforestation of 35ha in PT Sumber Hasil Prima. Bunge reached out to Goodhope for verification. Goodhope confirmed they are investigating the allegations by deploying a team to conduct on the ground verification. Oct-17: Reports by Goodhope and feedback from various stakeholders confirm that Goodhope has made relevant progress:

1. Released Sustainability Policy based on NDPE and supply chain traceability

2. Committed to Best Management Practices in relation to conservation HCS/HCV area’s. HCS assessment conducted in PT AJB, PT BMS and PT SMS. Reports presented to HCS Approach Steering Committee.

3. Timebound action pan in place to achieve traceability to plantation level by 2019.

4. Committed to solve pending RSPO case via DSF RSPO.

Bunge is confident that Goodhope remains committed to the implementation of its policy and compliance to the Bunge Sustainable Palm Oil Sourcing Policy. We continue to monitor their progress via their monthly sustainability updates. ___________________________________________

Therefore we consider the case on JT holdings as closed. Jan-19: ME reports deforestation of 85 ha of forest in a concession owned by Jaya Tiasa Holding Berhad, part of RH Group. Bunge started active engagement with its trade partner in 2018 to verify its connections to RH Group. Our direct trade partner informed they are engaging with both Jaya Tiasa and RH Group. Alleged deforestation

Actions BLC: Jul-19: Bunge received a Maphubs deforestation report from Mongabay connecting Bunge to some of the mills mentioned in the report. None of the mills are in Bunge’s direct supply chain. We reached out to our trade partners to verify the connections and allegations on the indirectly connected mills. Based on the updates received we concluded the report contained lots of inconsistencies and wrong ownership connections. We therefore consider the case as closed. ___________________________________________

MATAHARI KAHURIPAN INDONESIA (MAKIN) Status: Closed Log Date: May 2018 Summary: Alleged deforestation Mighty Earth Report: 5, 17, 21, 22, 23 Actions BLC: Apr-20: Bunge verified the allegations from the ME reports with its trade partners. Based on the updates received case can remain closed. Jan-20: ME reports about deforestation of 146ha in the Dhanistha Surya Nusantara concession. Nov-19: ME reports about deforestation of 79ha in a concession owned by Makin. Bunge is investigating the allegations with its trade partners. Jul-19: ME reports about deforestation of 25ha of peat development. Bunge contacted its trade partners for latest updates. Our trader partner informed Bunge business activities of PT MKK ceased since September 2016. Feb-19: evidence was provided to Mighty Earth that Makin is not connected to PT Krida Dharma Kahuripan. Dec-18: following the engagement of our trade partner evidence was provided that the alleged clearance was not conducted by Makin Group. Oct-18: our trade partner received evidence that clearing inside the PT Krida Dharma Kahuripan concession was not conducted by Makin and consider the grievance as closed. We have contacted our trading partners for clarification on their engagement with Makin Group. Based on this information Bunge will close the case on Pactra, pending further verification of its connection to PT AUS. Jun-19: our trade partner verified the alleged clearing via in-house monitoring and confirmed clearing was outside the concession of PT AUS. Furthermore they informed Bunge PT AUS was sold to Borneo Pacific in 2018. May-19: according to our data, Bunge is indirectly connected to Pactra Group. We will reach out to our trade partners for an update on their engagement. Apr-19: ME reports deforestation of 33ha in PT Arjuna Utama Sawit (PT AUS). Based on this information Bunge will lift the suspension on SOP and considers the case as closed. May-19: ME reports about 214ha of forest that were prepared for clearance in Shin Yang Group. According to Bunge’s engagement with SOP and information received from our trade partners, Shin Yang Group acts independently from SOP. SY Group is supplying to SOP. Bunge engaged with SOP and requested them to require SY Group to issue a stop work, pending next course of action. Nov-18: we have engaged with SOP over the past 6 months and commend them on their sustainability initiatives and in adhering to the necessary assessments prior to any new expansion. We continue to seek further progress and milestones with SOP, specifically in establishing, publishing and socializing an NDPE policy. Jun-18: Bunge will no longer accept oil from this supplier. Jun-19: Bunge verified the alleged deforestation via in-house GIS monitoring system. It appears that clearing was outside of the concession owned by Wings Group.
