FDX-10 Over-Balanced Diaphram FIrst Stage

The Forged from marine-grade brass, the FDX-10 features optimized air paths and angled hose ports for superior performance and comfort.

A sealed Balanced Diaphragm design, Enviro Kit and patented DVT (Dry Valve Technology) isolate all internal components from the environment. 2 high pressure and 4 low pressure ports allow convenient and comfortable hose routing.

The FDX-10 high performance over-balanced first stage provides progressively greater intermediate pressure as depth and gas density increases. The center “pads” that the diaphragms act against are different sizes so the working area of the outer environmental diaphragm is larger than the working area of the inner diaphragm. As depth increases, more pressure is applied to the larger surface area of the outer diaphragm than would be applied to the internal diaphragm. The result is superior gas delivery under the most extreme conditions.

Set the inhalation requirement to near zero when you need ultimate performance, or tune it for greater resistance as conditions or preferences change.

Most downstream demand valve regulators are calibrated during manufacturing to a single, 'middle of the road' operation. Whether finning up current at 100+ feet or merely snorkeling out to the dive site, this factory adjustment may not be optimum for the wide variety of demands we place on our equipment.

DVT eliminates corrosion of critical internal components, bacteria, hose deterioration, and damaged gauges and computers.

Q: Can Your First Stage Regulator Do This?A: Most first stage regulators are exposed to corrosive water intrusion either when removed from the cylinder valve between dives or in the rinse tank.

Q: Ever Wonder Why They Call It a "Dust Cap" and Not a "Water Cap"?A: Most dust caps are not designed to keep water from entering your first stage. Regardless of how carefully you may maintain your regulator, water entry is a much more common problem than most divers realize.

Without DVT: Living With Corrosion and Restricted Airflow.A: When water enters your first stage, critical internal seals break down and precision-machined metal parts begin to corrode. This inevitably leads to significant performance degradation and expensive repairs. Moisture also spreads throughout your breathing system, causing bacteria build-up, hose deterioration, and damage to gauges and computers.

The Solution? Dry Valve Technology.Though you should always use your dust cap to keep dust and other contaminants from entering your first stage, the extra protection of DVT means one less worry.

How Does It Work?Open the tank valve and air is delivered through a downstream system without restriction.

When your dive is finished, before the regulator is even removed from the tank valve, the Dry Valve Technology system is already closed, sealing out moisture and any other contamination.

The filter is safely positioned behind the moisture barrier to eliminate filter flow restriction due to corrosion.

Much of these changes were driven by feedback gathered on the deeperblue.com forum. Martin Stepanek, of Freediving Instructors International, who worked with us to develop the original, was also instrumental in defining and testing these new features as well.

"The AERIS F.10 was designed by freedivers for freedivers. It has many freediving specific features including a wide variety of convenient alarms. It’s ideally suited for all types of breath-hold diving, spearfishing or freediving, recreational to competitive. I’ve personally been diving with this computer for the past 14 months and find the repetitive depth alarm to be of specific value as it can track each atmosphere. The F.10 also features a surface interval alarm which is very beneficial during my interval training for competitive freediving. Turn-Around Pressure Alarm The 'Turn-Around' Pressure Alarm is a unique patent-pending feature that allows you to pre-program an audible reminder when you reach 1000 to 3000 psi in 250 psi increments. This helps ensure that you return to your exit point with plenty of air.

In 1987 a unique series of experiments were conducted by Diving Science and Technolo-gy (DSAT). Commissioned by the Professional Association of Diving Instructors (PADI), these Doppler ultrasound monitored human experiments conducted by Dr. Michael Powell produced the most comprehensive data set that exists for recreational divers to this day. Automatic Safety Stop PromptA brief audible and visual alarm remind you as you approach 15 feet. An automatic 3-minute timer counts down to zero. As in any other dive mode, you still have access to other pieces of information, and there is no penalty should you choose to disregard the safety stop.

VEO 1.0 Simple is as simple does. The Oceanic Veo 1.0 is a solid basic computer designed for air or single gas nitrox mixes up to 50 percent. It displays only essential information during the dive in easy-to-read digits; uses effective bar graphs to present nitrogen loading and ascent rate; and offers useful features like an automatic safety stop countdown timer that ticks off three minutes when you ascend to 15 feet.
