DAY :1 OBSERVING ENGLISH LANGUAGE CLASSROOM
For the first day during School Based Experience program, I ask for Madam Chai
asking for her permission to observe her teaching. At 11 o’clock I’m with her entered the
classroom which is the last classroom for year 3 that is 3 Cerdas.
I find out that madam Chai used instructional language for establish her purposes
before beginning the lesson. She told the student that today we want to discuss the
previous examination paper in order to give student to prepare their mind and previous
knowledge for what they had learned before.
Firstly, she had divided the students into a few groups. Then each student will be
given one set of examination question paper. She had done this in order to let the
students discussing among each other. The relationship between the teacher and
students are quite good. The students respect her as the teacher. All of her instructions
were obeyed by the students.
I can feel that Madam Chai is a kind and responsibility teacher as I can see that
the students like her. Today, I had learned that in order to achieve effective learning we
must to rebuilds a good relationship with students.

DAY 2: OBSERVING TEACHER AND LEARNER ROLES
The second day, I meet Puan Suyati to observe her teaching in the classroom.
She told me that she have an important things to do for this day that she do not had
deliver the lesson but she will call me if she had the time to teach.
Luckily I got a call from her at last period of time which is at 12.30 am. When I
arrived at the class, she already there. This is year 2 class which is the first class that is
2 Arif. In the class I sit at the back of the class and observing her. I realized that Puan
Suyati had played many roles while teaching in the class. For example, she had act as
a facilitator. She give a worksheet to each student in the class. While the student
answering the question, she move around the class and she give guidance to every
students. That give me a lesson we as a teacher have to give guidance to every
students and every time not certain time only.
I realize that, most of the student in the class are very active that they always ask
Puan Suyati about the question in the worksheet and they look very happy when talking
to Puan Suyati. They are only 2 female student that I find that are very quiet that they do
not participated in the discussion. They do not give response when the teacher ask and
talk to them that show them as the passive students in that class. But, when I ask Puan
Suyati regarding those 2 students, she told me they are the top ten of the student in the
class although they are passive.

DAY 3: OBSERVING CLASSROOM MANAGEMENT
For the third day of the SBE program, I choose Madam Chai again to observe
her teaching and skill to manage a classroom. The reason why I choose her because
she teach year 3 Arif, which is the last class for year 3. So I want to look how she
manages the last classroom.
When I entered the class with her, the students in the class are very noisy and
they all were playing some kind of games because they are no teacher in the class
before. They were very noisy but when they saw Madam Chai, all of them are running
back to their own sit and stand up to greet her. I think that they have known Madam
Chai well and they respect her as their classroom teacher.
For today, Madam Chai give them a worksheet regarding grammar and I realized
that she love to give them handout about the previous lesson because most of the
students answered wrongly about grammar in the previous examination. She loves to
move around the class and go from one student to another student in order to give
attention to each individual. She gives 100% attention to the students, that’s why I saw
the students fear to make noise when in she in the classroom. However, she love to
make jokes to attract the students to the lesson which make me think that is the reason
why the students like her although she is very strict.
At the end, of the lesson she gave the students homework and she told the
students to finish it and answered correctly because she will give a punishment for
whom who do not finish it.

DAY 4: TECHNIQUES IN TEACHING LANGUAGE SKILLS
ON the 4th day, I ask for Puan Suyati to observe her teaching again. Before that,
she asks me to help her to bring the teaching materials to the class. Then, I entered
class 4 Arif for the first time with Puan Suyati. I sit at the back of the class quietly in
order to prevent for me to disturbed student’s attention.
First of all, she divides the student in 2 groups and she gave each team a bundle of
word. After she give explanation about the games that she makes. She asks the
students to get ready when she spoke a word. When she yelled ‘delicious’, I saw one of
the students from each group run to the front with the set of word and write a sentence
from the ‘delicious’ word on the blackboard that she yelled before. I guess that this was
some kind of vocabulary games.
She uses activity to teach the students about vocabulary. These were very effective as
the four language skill been applied to her teaching. She integrates listening skill to
student when she yelled a word and the students have to write, read and speak the
sentences that they have written at the blackboard. Puan Suyati will correct them if they
make a wrong sentence which means that she integrated grammar and vocabulary
during her lesson.

cause they are busy with school program. Luckily, Sir Musab helps me to look to some
of the remedial and enrichment worksheet that he have. Then I have make comparison
between these two materials in the table below:
