Hi, and welcome back! It’s been a while, but I finally gave up on the exchange ever letting me post this and got around to redoing it. Here’s the house where the “patients” will be staying for the duration of the challenge.

Page 3: Obnoxious npc asylum week 1

This is the main floor. There’s a kitchen, with the mandatory easily accessible stove and refrigerator; a bathroom, with separate shower and toilet; and a main room with just about everything else. They have a piano for creativity, a chess board for logic, and a TV and bookcase for everything else. The book shelf also doubles as a door to the basement. For seating, there’s a two seat couch by the TV, two chairs at the chess board, and two in the kitchen.

Page 4: Obnoxious npc asylum week 1

The basement hopefully will not be used. It contains space for the urns of any casualties as well as the bone phone left over from the aftermath of my previous asylum attempt.

Page 5: Obnoxious npc asylum week 1

The top floor is reserved for bedrooms to keep patients from being disturbed while they sleep and hopefully keep them safer from ghosts. Now on to the patients…

Page 6: Obnoxious npc asylum week 1

First and foremost among Obnoxious NPCs is Mrs. Crumplebottom. Since she can’t be moved in, this is a replica with a randomly assigned personality. She rolled Wealth aspiration and Cancer personality, with a whopping seven nice points. Definitely not the personality I would have given her.

Page 7: Obnoxious npc asylum week 1

Ranking number two as nuisance NPCs go is the social worker. Looking for any excuse to take your sim’s kids, she has psychic powers that inform her if they skip a meal or play outside for thirty seconds longer than she likes. Social Worker is also CAS created and rolled Pleasure aspiration with a Sagittarius personality.

Page 8: Obnoxious npc asylum week 1

Third is Repo Man the repo man, a representative of the NPC who most enjoys making life miserable for sims who can’t afford to pay their bills. He rolled Romance aspiration and Ares personality.

Page 9: Obnoxious npc asylum week 1

Next on my list is the nanny. Used only as last resort in my game, I don’t think I’d trust a Simlish nanny to watch a goldfish, let alone a child. Karen Ghast is a Maxis-made nanny that I lured into the asylum and trapped. She has her regular personality of Cancer and family aspiration.

Page 10: Obnoxious npc asylum week 1

Kaylynn Langerak the maid has even more reason than most maids to be locked up. Not only is she a maid, skilled at taking at least twice as long as necessary to clean while charging by the hour, she’s also a Family sim who does her best to wreck Daniel and Mary Sue’s marriage. Though, to be fair, I suppose Daniel could do a fine job of that on his own. She has an Aquarius personality.

Page 11: Obnoxious npc asylum week 1

Also a real NPC trapped on the lot is Charlie Seiff, the butler. He’s a Family sim, with Aquarius personality. Differing from maids mainly in that they attempt to do more things, stay longer, and charge more, butlers have the added ability to put a meal in the oven when nobody’s hungry and they’re about to leave.

Page 12: Obnoxious npc asylum week 1

Finally, last and least irritating, is Living Statue the living statue, who is merely strange. He rolled Capricorn personality and Romance aspiration.

Page 13: Obnoxious npc asylum week 1

This is my controllable sim, Mathew Asylum. For Matt’s failed first attempt at the challenge, see the prologue. Matt is a Knowledge sim with an Aries personality and a lifetime want to top the Gamer career, all of which where randomly assigned for his first attempt.

Page 14: Obnoxious npc asylum week 1

Luckily for him, Gamer was in the paper on the first day of the challenge.

Page 15: Obnoxious npc asylum week 1

Kaylynn and Charlie started fighting before they even made it inside. I have no idea how they ended up disliking each other so quickly.

Page 16: Obnoxious npc asylum week 1

Mathew quickly invited his fiancée from the first attempt, La Shawn, to rekindle their relationship since all of the patient’s skill points and relationships were wiped out at the beginning to keep things fair. She brought along my simself and the kid I spawned to lure in a nanny, both of whom are currently living with her.

Page 17: Obnoxious npc asylum week 1

Their relationship moved fairly quickly.

Page 18: Obnoxious npc asylum week 1

As usual, sim me was drawn straight to the chess table. She’s a shy Knowledge sim, and so usually prefers skilling to socializing. Mathew would have joined her if I hadn’t forced him to spend time with his girlfriend.

Page 19: Obnoxious npc asylum week 1

Though most sims are drawn to the chess table fairly strongly.

“I can’t wait until you let Matt out of here as we can get married!”

La Shawn, very much a Family sim, has been wanting to marry Matt since their first date in the previous attempt.

Page 20: Obnoxious npc asylum week 1

“So, what happened to the ghosts? Matt was just telling me how much he missed them.”

The urns from my first asylum are in Matt’s inventory and are staying there until the end of the challenge. There’s no way I’m dealing with a haunted asylum again unless I have to. Of course, this doesn’t keep Matt from rolling up the want to see a ghost constantly.

Page 21: Obnoxious npc asylum week 1

“I’d love to take you, piano, but Matt’s been paying his taxes.”

Page 22: Obnoxious npc asylum week 1

“Sooo…you like money now?’

It has got to be hard to have a normal conversation with Mrs. Crumplebottom, particularly considering what she’s wearing, or rather not wearing.

Page 23: Obnoxious npc asylum week 1

The next morning, Matt is off to his first day of work. Will the house still be standing when he gets back? Only time will tell.

Page 24: Obnoxious npc asylum week 1

“I like flowers.”

“Must…have…food!”

Looks like Matt forgot to get groceries before he left.

Page 25: Obnoxious npc asylum week 1

It’s still a while until Matt gets back and the inmates are getting hungrier.

Page 26: Obnoxious npc asylum week 1

Luckily for them, Matt got sent home early. Not so lucky for him, since he was fired due to a bad chance card.

Page 27: Obnoxious npc asylum week 1

Understandably enough, Matt is pretty upset.

“Will I ever get out of this house?”

I don’t know, but worst case I can resurrect him again.

Page 28: Obnoxious npc asylum week 1

To cheer him up, I let Matt invite La Shawn over again.

Page 29: Obnoxious npc asylum week 1

They played some chess, but Matt had bigger plans.

Page 30: Obnoxious npc asylum week 1

“I love you…”

Kaylynn in the background, “I sure wish Mrs. Crumplebottom would put some clothes on.”

That sim walks around in her underwear more than anyone else in the asylum.

Page 31: Obnoxious npc asylum week 1

“La Shawn, if we ever get out of this mess do you still want to marry me?”

Page 32: Obnoxious npc asylum week 1

She said yes, of course.

Page 33: Obnoxious npc asylum week 1

Then, a random townie barged in. Nothing like trying to have a romantic moment in an insane asylum.

Page 34: Obnoxious npc asylum week 1

Understandably, they decided to get as far away from everyone else as possible after that.

Page 35: Obnoxious npc asylum week 1

“Help, the wall’s eating me!”

Matt’s been inviting in walkbys to hopefully befriend the crazies and make promotions easier.

Page 36: Obnoxious npc asylum week 1

First sponge bath goes to, who else, Mrs. C.

Page 37: Obnoxious npc asylum week 1

Gamer was in the paper again on Friday, so Matt’s back on track to his lifetime want and his wedding.

Page 38: Obnoxious npc asylum week 1

Saturday while Matt was at work was more of the same. Charlie and Karen fought with Kaylynn and Mrs. Crumplebottom didn’t wear clothes.

Page 39: Obnoxious npc asylum week 1

Though this fight is a positive interaction?

Page 40: Obnoxious npc asylum week 1

And Charlie made Kaylynn cry again. However, there’s more going on in this picture.

Page 41: Obnoxious npc asylum week 1

The asylum has its first autonomous couple.

Page 42: Obnoxious npc asylum week 1

They also make use of the double bed.

There won’t be any more of this since I’ve uninstalled ACR. I don’t mind it in the asylum, but I play several other households where everyone constantly cheating on their romantic interests or running off to do something ACR induced when I’m trying to get them to skill got annoying.

Page 43: Obnoxious npc asylum week 1

I found Mrs. C crying, still not dressed of course. I suppose she isn’t likely to get many wants fulfilled since she’s a Wealth sim who can’t earn much money or buy anything.

Page 44: Obnoxious npc asylum week 1

Matt got promoted finally and brought an old guy with a mullet home with him.

Page 45: Obnoxious npc asylum week 1

Looks like Charlie’s finally got Kaylynn beat for good.

Page 46: Obnoxious npc asylum week 1

Or not.

Page 47: Obnoxious npc asylum week 1

Meanwhile, mullet guy is stalking a walkby.

Page 48: Obnoxious npc asylum week 1

I’m pretty sure she has no interest in him.

Page 49: Obnoxious npc asylum week 1

Mrs. Crumplebottom is first to clog the toilet, in her clothes for once.

Page 50: Obnoxious npc asylum week 1

This version of Mrs. C is definitely not normal. Kissing is her favorite topic. I suppose she might just miss her whacking purse, but I suspect otherwise.

“Would you kiss me?”

“Definitely not!”

Page 51: Obnoxious npc asylum week 1

Lots of best friending is going on.

Page 52: Obnoxious npc asylum week 1
Page 53: Obnoxious npc asylum week 1

“I have three best friends!”

Page 54: Obnoxious npc asylum week 1

“And no ghosts yet!”

Page 55: Obnoxious npc asylum week 1

Of course, not everyone’s getting along.

Page 56: Obnoxious npc asylum week 1

“Hiyaa!”

I suppose it makes for some interesting pictures.

Page 57: Obnoxious npc asylum week 1
Page 58: Obnoxious npc asylum week 1

And another fight.

Page 59: Obnoxious npc asylum week 1

And yet another fight.

Page 60: Obnoxious npc asylum week 1

“Congratulations on your lousy reputation!”

I don’t think sims really understand the concept of compliments.

Page 61: Obnoxious npc asylum week 1

And that’s week one at Sarabeth’s Obnoxious NPC Asylum. Since I’m playing with aging off, I needed another method of keeping track of time. The lawn will gain a flamingo every week that goes by.
