Page 3: Objective: We will learn to understand the relationship between percents, fractions, and decimals.

For example: Write 65% as a decimal. (If there is no decimal point in the percent,

there is always an invisible decimal point at the end of the last digit. You must move that decimal 2 places to the left. )

65% = 65. = 0.65 ⏎2 places to the left

Your Example: Write 4.3% as a decimal.

Page 4: Objective: We will learn to understand the relationship between percents, fractions, and decimals.

For example: Write the decimal 0.78 as a percent.

0.78 = 78. = 78%2 places to the right

Your example: Write the decimal 0.875 as a percent.

Page 5: Objective: We will learn to understand the relationship between percents, fractions, and decimals.

You can use division to write a fraction as a percent. For example: Write as a percent. Steps: 1. Divide 3 ÷ 5 = 0.6 (You will get a decimal.) 2. Then you must move the decimal point 2 places to the

right to rewrite the decimal as a percent.

◦ 0.6 = 0.60 = 60%• Move the decimal 2 places to the right
