-Bio. My name is Rawdha Salem Thani; I am a twenty-year-old interior design student in Zayed University. -Family History. I come from a family with mixed nationalities and races, my father is a 50-year-old Emirati pilot that comes from half black half white parents, therefor he is mixed race. My mother is a 38-year-old Moroccan that only finished her high school degree and is a housewife. My parents have five children. -The people I interviewed: The people I interviewed were my parents, as the objects I chose belonged to them.

-First Object. Object: Moroccan teapot. Uses Of the Object: prepare and drink green Moroccan tea from.

The Teapot is made out of Stainless steal making it fire-friendly to be placed directly on the over to prepare the tea. There are some engravings on the pot that come from Islamic art and are often seen in old buildings and old Islamic architecture.

Interview: (With my mother) Q: can you tell me a little about this Object? A: This is a traditional teapot that we prepare and drink green tea from. Q: how old is this teapot? A: I don’t know exactly how old it is but I’ve had it for 20 years so far and my grand mother had it for about five years before she gave it to me. Q: How did you get this teapot? A: My grandmother gave it to me after I got married and moved out here to Dubai.

Q: Do you still use this teapot? A: no I only used it about five times myself and then got a new set and decided to keep this for memory. Q: can you tell me about the engravings on the teapot?

-Second Object. Object: Watch This is a silver stainless steal watch from a company called PRIMA. It has a very unique band. This watch belongs to my father. Interview: (with my father)

Q: Can you tell me about the object? A: This is a watch. Q: How long have you had this watch? A: I had this watch for over 20 years now. Q: Where did you get this watch? A: It was given to me as a gift.

-Third Object. Object: earrings. The object is a pretty clip on earing. The earrings have CC on them, which is the logo of chanel. There are many textures on the earing. There is a signature in the back which all vintage chanel earrings have.

-Interview: (with my mother) Q: tell me about this object A: these are clip on earings. Q: where did you get them from? A: I bought them. Q: how long have you had them? A: four years now.

-Epilogue: This project made me look at objects from a whole new perspective, in noticing the objects I’m doing the research about and the way to describe them and how to ask questions about objects when doing a research.
