Refugee Convention 75 _____________________________________ OAU Convention Governing the Specific Aspects of Refugee Problems in Africa (1969/1974) Adopted in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, on 10 September 1969 and entered into force on 20 June 1974. The Convention is similar in many respects to the UN Refugee Convention, although the definition of a refugee in article 1 of the African Convention is broader than the definition included in the Convention of the UN.
