OASIS BAGS INTRODUCTION, OVERVIEW AND INFORMATION PRESENTATION

Page 2: Oasis bags Overview

A LITTLE HISTORY

• Oasis Bags was founded in Canada in 1989 with two fundamental beliefs: to provide environmentally friendly and sustainable packaging alternatives; and to supply socially responsible certified products. Founders Laurie and Robin Maloni were both very passionate about the environment and their vision.

• After a great deal of research and designing, even if reusable bags were not yet trendy or even common, Oasis Bags launched their first line of products : cotton bags, determined to get their products and vision into the market.

• Over the years, awareness for the environment grew and recycling technologies became more efficient. As a result, Oasis Bags discovered a way to create bags out of post-consumer plastic. Our product line began including a wide variety of recycled, recyclable, biodegradable and organic bags and we continue to this day to offer the latest and best possible products.

OVER A QUARTER OF A CENTURY …

• In good circumstances, high-density polyethylene will take more than 20 years to degrade. In less ideal circumstances (landfills or as general refuse), a bag will take more than 500 years to degrade (ScienceLearn.org).

• Only .5% to 3% of all plastic bags wind up recycled (BBC, CNN).

• According to data from the Ocean Conservancy's annual International Coastal Cleanups, plastic bags are consistently in the top 10 pieces of trash collected on beaches around the world

Over the last 27 years we have sold millions and millions of bags, in fact avoiding tons of plastic bags from ending in our landfills, oceans and forests across North America.

ONE BAG AT A TIMEConservatively ; If ONE person has a reusable tote that is carried and used daily ; in lieu of taking a plastic bag for their purchase, they will have saved at least 5 to 10 bags per week, which adds up to over 500 bags per year. If 10 people opted for this daily, over the course of 18 months it would save over 7,500 bags Imagine the impact over a life time …
