Keller ISD Piano Courses 2019 - 2020 Advanced: Piano 4 (1 CREDIT / 11-12 GRADE) AUDITION REQUIREMENT Designed to be college preparatory for students with extensive piano experience, students will demonstrate advanced piano technique, sight- reading ability, theoretical and historical knowledge. Repertoire includes music of all style periods and genres. Students will perform in ensembles, in the solo contest, and concert performances. Early Advanced: Piano 3 (1 CREDIT / 11-12 GRADE) AUDITION REQUIREMENT For experienced students considering a college music degree with a solid technical and theoretical background, students will continue to develop sight- reading skills and explore various styles and genres. Students in this class will perform in ensembles, solo contest and concert performances.

Advanced: Piano 4(1 CREDIT / 11-12 GRADE)

AUDITION REQUIREMENT

Designed to be college preparatory for students with extensive piano experience, students will demonstrate advanced piano technique, sight-reading ability, theoretical and historical knowledge. Early Advanced: Piano 3

(1 CREDIT / 11-12 GRADE)AUDITION REQUIREMENT

Intermediate: Piano 2(1 CREDIT / 10-12 GRADE)AUDITION REQUIREMENT

Students with prior experience may take this class to dive deeper into music theory and history, and to gain further experience performing on the piano. Students will develop sight-reading and ensemble skills and learn about various styles and genres. A concert performance is required each semester and solo contest may be entered by teacher referral.

Beginner: Piano 1(1 CREDIT / 9-12 GRADE)

NO AUDITION REQUIRED

No previous experience is necessary to take this course. Students will learn the fundamentals of piano technique, music theory, history, ensemble playing, and learn about various styles and genres of piano music. Attendance of peer recitals is required, as well as performance in a year-end concert. Students may participate in additional recitals and contest by teacher referral.
