I am very excited to see the second edition of the Nurs-
ing Newsletter NURSING TIMES because it represents a cele-
bration of nursing as a profession and a discipline unlike any
other. It is a joy to read all of the activities carried out by our
institution throughout the last one year. Sumandeep Nursing
College has many great things on the horizon for 2016-17. The
College continues to graduate many great nursing profession-
als, we are moving nursing science forward in new and innova-
tive ways, we are launching new courses in the coming aca-
demic year, started functioning as separate faculty under SUV
are only a few of the exciting things happening here at the Col-
lege.
I would also like to take this opportunity to thank all fac-

was inaugurated on 6th February 2016 by
Air Commodore (Dr.) G.D Mehta, at 9
am with prayer song by 2nd m.sc nursing stu-
dents and all the respected dignitaries did
formal inauguration by lighting the ceremo-
nial lamp.

2015 by Dr. Punita Grover, At the
commencement of the programme Mrs. Joslin
Joseph welcomed and introduced the Resource
personnel and the participants and presented
the overview of the CNE.
THEME UNVEILING
Mr. Suresh .V, H.O.D, of Mental Health
Nursing, SNC unveiled the theme of the CNE.
He also gave an briefed about the topic;
Cognitive Behavior Therapy.
RESOURCE PERSON
Dr. Punita Grover. She gave an in depth
knowledge regarding CBT both its theoretical
part as well as its practical application on the
clients. It was also discussed that which type of
clients can be recommended for CBT.
ROLE PLAY
The programme headed with a role play
performed by 3rd year BSc nursing students
which clearly depicted that which clients could
be given CBT.

Ms. Devangi Sharma welcomed and introduced
Resource personnel and the participants and presented
the overview of the CNE and briefed about the topic.
THEME UNFOLDING
Theme unfolding was done by Mr. Nirmal Raj
E.V, HOD Pediatric Nursing, SNC. He has given an
overview about the topic; special needs of children. It
included the disabilities of children, Measuring the
extent of disability, classification of disabilities.. Etc.
And also he gave explanation about various dimensions
of disabilities.
