The working principle of NOUS heat pump water heater is really innovativeas it uses the heat from the air as renewable source to produce hot water:it uses a thermodynamic cycle to heat the water contained inside the heaterthrough air sucked from the thermal group.This is the reverse mechanism to that used in refrigerators: refrigerantfluid, through status changes, withdraws the heat contained in the air at lowtemperature and gives it to the water at a higher temperature, in this wayinverting the natural heat flow.NUOS is also equipped with a heat resistance able to start functioningwhen the hot water request is higher or when the environmenttemperature is lower than the minimum functioning temperature (10°C),always guaranteeing maximum comfort in generating DHW.

WORKING PRINCIPLE
1 - The refrigerant fluid crosses the evaporator and absorbs the heat supplied by the sucked air.This process ensures that the refrigerant changes phase by evaporating.
2 - The refrigerant gas undergoes, inside the compressor,a pressure increase which entails the temperature rising.
3 - Inside the condenser, the refrigerant gas gives its heat to the water contained inside the heater.This exchange process ensures that the refrigerant passes to liquid state by condensing.
4 - The refrigerant fluid looses further pressure and temperature by crossing the expansion valve,returning to the initial conditions again.

The refrigerant fluid used inside the heat pump is very important inestablishing the quality of the product.The one chosen by Ariston, the R134A is not damaging to the ozone layer,the atmospheres' fundamental element for protection against ultravioletradiations, as it has an “ODP” (Ozone Depletion Potential) equal to zero.It does not contain chlorine, damaging for the environment, it is not toxicor flammable, all advantages for both the users' and the installers' safety.The R134A gas, thanks to high thermodynamic features, guarantees highefficiency.

When the NUOS 80-100-120 litres heat pumps are installed in the home, it is necessary to channel the air outlet inorder to avoid cooling the premises.The wide range of provided accessories allows maximum installation flexibility in any type of environment.It is also possible to channel the inlet air in case warmer premises exist near-by (for example, due to the presenceof other products like boilers, refrigerators, washing machines which produce heat losses) compared to that wherethe product is installed.
The product outlet air must always be channelled to avoid the consequentcooling of the installation premises.When, in fact, the product works with heat pump and it has been installedwithout channelling the outlet air, it cools the premises by 2/4°C.To guarantee functioning with heat pump, the incoming air must have atemperature between 10-37°C. Installations without channelling of theoutlet air can also create recirculation between the outlet air and inletair limiting the correct functioning of the same product.

Choose yourown installation
To channel air, piping with a diameter of 125 mm and max. 10 m long can be used.To calculate the length of the pipes, consider every curve and every grid mouth equal to 1 metre long.In case of channelling the outlet and inlet mouths, the total length of the channelsmust be less than 10 m long, with piping with 125 mm diameter.

Antilegionnairesfunction
The DHW storages constitute favourable sites for the diffusionof the Legionnaires’ bacteria. To guarantee maximum safety andhygiene, NUOS 80-100-120 are provided with the anti-Legionnairefunction. This function monthly carries out a complete heatingcycle at a temperature of 65°C to sanitise the water storage,in case during the previous 30 days the stored water has neverreached said temperature
