She and her husband Matt welcomed a new son – Spencer Francis Burns, weighing in at a healthy 4.04kg. We all look forward to meeting Spencer soon and send our best wishes to Mrs Burns and her husband. SCHOOL COUNCIL ELECTIONS Congratulations to Emma Kennedy and Nicole Korosa who will join Andrew Dakin, Kirsty Taranto, Emily Conklin and Greg Miller as parent representatives on School council. Due to a resignation there is a 12 month position vacant. Any parents interest- ed in this position should register their interest with the Mrs Edwards. The DET representatives on School council are Ann Ricardo, Emma Harris, Craig Lieft- ing, Kim Worrell and Leanne Edwards (Executive Officer). STUDENT VOICE LIVE The grade 6 student leaders have been working hard to produce ‘The Student Voice Live’ page which is new to the newsletter this year. Please let us know what you think of the Student Voice page and if there is anything else you would like to see includ- ed. SCHOOL BBQ and POOL NIGHT A beautiful afternoon certainly made for a perfect evening by the pool last Thurs- day. Thank you to all of the families who attended our annual event – we hope you enjoyed the BBQ and Sno Cones! Thank you also to the staff who gave up their time to be a part of the event. DISTRICT SWIMMING Tuesday’s weather was perfect for the swimming sports held at Cowes. The Bass Val- ley squad performed admirably with some excellent results and several students moving through to the Division competition this Friday. Thank you to the parents who made a great cheer squad and to Miss Worrell, Mr McCormick and Kylie Lansdown who looked after students on the day. See inside for more pictures. PREP STUDENTS We would like to thank the parents and guardians of prep students for bringing them along for their English interviews over the past four Wednesdays. It was much ap- preciated. Please remember that prep students now attend school for the full week from next Monday. Could all families please check school uniforms for names as we have some missing labelled clothes and we also have a lot of lost property turning up that is not named! We can get items back to owners if we know who it belongs to!! KABOOM KID SPORT IS COMING!
This is a Commonwealth Games themed tabloid sports day.
There will be an Opening Ceremony, Olympic flame, medal
tallies during activities and presentation of Gold, Silver and
Bronze medals. This will run on Monday 26th March from
11.30—1.30 for all students. The cost of this event will be
$7 per student (the original cost was $9 and St Vincents de
Paul have generously agreed to subsidise all students $2
each). The $7 payment can be sent along to school at your
earliest convenience or taken out of CSEF funds if you have
them available.

COMMUNICATION ● Newsletter – distributed every Thursday to the eldest in the family ● Facebook – Regular postings and photos of what’s going on in the school – newsletters are also posted here ● SeeSaw – This is a free app that you can download on to your phone or device. You will receive a log on to your child’s grade See Saw. Teachers will post information and photos each week of activities within the classroom ● Phone- Please ring if you need any information or wish to make an appointment with a teacher, Principal or Assistant Principal.
BENDIGO BANK APPLICATIONS
If any Prep students or students new to the school wish to
open Bendigo Bank accounts, we have application packs in
the office. All new accounts get a credit of $20 and new
prep students receive a story book as well.
COLES SPORTS FOR SCHOOLS
We are collecting these tokens now so tell your
family and friends to collect them too and drop
them into the collection box in the school foyer.
The more tokens we collect the more sports
equipment we will be able to get for the school.
GRADE 5/6 CAMP NEWS Here are some pictures of the first two hiking groups today on the Lilly Pilly loop track from Tidal River. Apparently the weather is windy but not that cool.
LEARNING CONFERENCE (STUDENT/PARENT/TEACHER INTERVIEWS) This year students will attend the interviews with parents to empower students to take greater responsibility and ownership of their learning. The interviews will be held on Tuesday 20th March in the afternoon/evening. To book these interviews, you need to go through the Compass portal. You need to login to the Compass App to do this. Please contact the office if you need assistance with this. This will go live for you to do so on Friday 9th March. SEESAW CHALLENGE The prep grades have now taken the lead in the chal-lenge to have all parents in the grade signed up for the free SeeSaw app. Remember there is a free icy pole for the whole grade who wins the challenge! So how is your grade going? PV 17/19, PG 16/18, 1H 16/21, 1/2L 19/23, 2H 18/22, 3/4D 12/22, 3/4M 13/23, 4/5M 13/19, 5/6W 17/23 and 5/6R 13/24 We have parents comment that See Saw is a great conversation starter with their children. When asking ‘What did you do today?’ and getting the reply ‘Nothing’, parents can say ‘ I saw today you were doing …….how did that go, tell me more about it’.
