By: NDOM Ryan HarrisonIn Daniel 3, we see an example of the power of meaningful ties. The scripture mentions no familial relationship between Shadrach, Meshach, or Abed-nego, however there is evidence of a tie that transcends a blood connection. Somehow they achieved a sense of unity that could not be broken or tampered with.

The Tie – We Have the Same FaithIn a time when absolute truth becomes subjective and morality gives way to popular opinion, ANΩ, must remember its charge to walk as children of light. This charge that ties and binds us together, must be taken seriously, and must be lived out. We must have faith without compromise or negotiation understanding that God will be glorified in our suffering and in our victory.

The Tie – We Speak the Same LanguageIn Daniel 3, we hear the voice of these 3 men only one time. The way we hear them is very much in the same fashion we recite information on line. While on

line, we are constantly told that we are one, and that we should sound as one. The bible records “their” response, and does not give credit to a spokesperson. In unity, they replied with a statement that infuriated the king. This solidarity in action and word was a testament to their commitment to God.

The Tie – We Share the Same Letters During persecution, the fire was turned up 7 times hotter, killing two men before throwing Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-nego, and yet didn’t destroy the tie (rope) between them. The tie that was intended to contain them and prevent them from fleeing became an outward reflection of an inward connection. We are tied together by the same letters. These letters are subject to persecution because they bear the name of Christ. Our physical ties, however, are only effective when we have an inward connection with God. Recording the new UCCFS Family Song at the 2013

UCCFS Conference in Baltimore, MD.

For the 2014 – 2015 school year, the National Board of Alpha Nu Omega created a campaign to provide direct assistance to chapters in order to rebuild and strengthen our presence on college campuses. All undergraduate chapters have received a “Stomp the Yard Toolkit” which includes materials and resources that chapters should use for planning, promoting, and programming. This kit includes detailed program proposals, template event fliers, general suggestions, and printed materials for your chapter’s use. The goal of the Stomp the Yard Toolkit is to provide turn-key materials for chapters to use in order to ease the burden of planning quality events throughout the year. Chapters are strongly encouraged to utilize materials provided and focus more on recruiting and relationship building.

But there’s more! The STY Toolkit is not just for our undergraduate chapters! All members are encouraged to utilize the materials within the toolkit to advance their chapters (undergraduate and alumni) and the organization as whole!

Did you know there are pre-printed toolkit materials available for purchase? Nationals has purchased contact cards, brochures, and general fliers (pictured below) for our members to purchase throughout the year. All members are encouraged to purchase materials through the STY toolkit in order to save on these documents.

Interested in purchasing? Want access to e-versions of Toolkit materials? Check out the online Stomp the Yard Toolkit!

Introducing the 2015 - 2016 Master Orientation Leaders

Master Orientation Leaders

NU DIMENSIONS ALPHA NU OMEGA, INC.

Learn how to get financially active today!

By: NVPTD Maurice HaskinsThe orientation process of Alpha Nu Omega, Inc. has long been a critical and pivotal element of our organization. In an effort to advance the orientation process and develop those that lead orientation, the National Board has established a new initiative entitled Master Orientation Leaders. Many participants were nominated, but after a rigorous application process, (10) participants were selected to participate in the pilot year of this initiative. In December 2014, these 10 individuals, (3 brothers and 7 sisters), gathered in Baltimore, MD to participate in the Master Orientation Leader Boot Camp. The Boot Camp was an intensive, interactive training weekend that was designed to provide participants with strategies for planning and implementing efficient and effective orientation processes; while also being able to serve as local orientation leaders as needed. They were trained by some of the organization’s most passionate

and successful orientation leaders who discussed topics related to leadership, decision making, combating challenges, mentoring, accountability and much more. After enduring this intense training weekend, all 10 participants successfully completed all of the requirements and emerged as the inaugural class of Master Orientation Leaders. They are: Eagle Brothers: Romeal Johnson, Joseph Graves and Danny Molock; Dove Sisters: Anthea Francis, Rosenie Balde, Courtney Rutledge, Kwaniqua Lewis, Nekia Jones, Jannay Brown, and Janeide Matthews-Chillis! Over the next two years, these Master Orientation Leaders will serve in such capacities as orientation leader, mentor, coach and trainer. We will be sharing more information soon about their unique role and how they can be of assistance to each of the chapters and regions conducting orientation. Congratulations to the 2015 Class of Master Orientation Leaders!

4NU DIMENSIONS

In 2014, Alpha Nu Omega had 17 active undergraduate chapters. Of those 17, only 2 fraternity entities 2 sorority entities had 5+ members. With changes in campus climates and regulations membership on campuses has been difficult to maintain. We need strong, experienced, and dedicated alumni members to support our rebuilding efforts across the nation. With your years of experience and leadership we can make a difference on our college campuses. WE NEED YOU!

Membership Reactivation As a young organization we have been

relying on the Young to lead which has given us strength and many victories. We also need support of the older generations who possess wisdom to help secure our legacy and sustainability (1 John 2:14).

In order to complement and supplement the recruitment efforts that are happening within local chapters, Nationals, in conjunction with our Founders, is instituting a National Intake. This is a new component of our Expansion model. In the past, expansion was geared towards growing chapters. We will now include a focused effort towards growing membership. We are targeting our efforts towards older men and women (ages 40 and up). We are looking at people who are:

• Established in family, career, ministry• Mature both spiritually and naturally• Available to serve due to life stage• Serve as a resource for finances, leadership, jobs, and community influence• Able to mentor our current membership

The benefits of taking this approach

include the increase of active older members who are within the spheres of influence of our most senior members (including Founders), utilizing recruitment and orientation personnel who are not currently engaged in local chapters, increased membership for some local alumni chapters, and increased human capital resources to work the vision.

This generation is characterized as having a high work ethic and high capacity for productivity and adaptability. They also are seen as possessing high morals/value and respect. Probably one of the greatest benefits to ANΩ is that this group is at a point in their lives that they have a good balance between work and life. These new recruits are either empty nesters or have children who are high school/college aged. They are looking for social and philanthropic engagement.

If you have knowledge of older family members, friends, pastors, or professors who you feel would be a great member, please forward their contact information to [email protected] (subject National Intake).
