How to Earn Degree Online
You have not reached the final decision to become an International student, and you do not have time to go abroad, Career and Advising Center (CAC) has prepared important tips to increase your chance of being accepted to universities and earn degree online.
So do not stress out and consider our observations:
Our main MOOC platform that we have analyzed is Coursera.org. Coursera is an online learning platform founded by Stanford professors Andrew Ng and Daphne Koller that offers courses, specializations, and degrees. Coursera works with universities and other organizations to offer online courses, specializations, and degrees in a variety of subjects, such as engineering, humanities, medicine, biology, social sciences, mathematics, business, computer science, digital marketing, data science, and others.
Sometimes student can not be accepted to the university because of some reasons, and at that time, it is very useful to apply for online degree program. They don’t have difficult requirements for applicants.

On November 14 students of Electrical and Computer Engineering had an opportunity to visit the plant of “Electrovoz Kurastyru Zauyty” LLP, which specialises in the development and construction of electric locomotives, initially designed for operation off 25 kV AC 50 Hz, the electrification system used by the country's State rail network operator, Kazakhstan Temir Zholy (KTZ). The future engineers accompanied by Head Engineer of the Production Facility, got thoroughly acquainted with all the nuances and stages of the production process. Students showed great interest in the work of the plant and asked various questions.
Kassymzhomart Kunanbayev, 3rd year student of Electrical and Computer Engineering major:
Visiting the EKZ (Electric Locomotives
Assembly Factory) has given the opportunity to see the
assembly process of one of the most difficult
mechanical structures - an electric locomotive. Having
a site tour over the factory showed how different
processes are separated and interrelated. The real-
world application of the knowledge, especially the production of transformers, facilitated our understanding
about the relationship between university courses and asssembly procedures. In additiion, the meeting
with the company representatives gave lots of insights, ideas and advices about the future job prospectus
and career opportunities. As a result of conversation, we negotiated to conduct such field trips in a regular
basis.

Skype Video Interview
There are different types of job interviews. They come in all shapes and sizes. As technology continues to advance, more and more interviewers are turning to Skype and video interviews as a way to connect with potential hires. Skype video interviews take the phone-screening interview to the next level. Skype is preferable to a phone interview every time. It shows future employer much more about who you are and how you will fit into their team. That is why Skype interviews can often be part of your hiring process. This is particularly relevant when the employer and the applicant are in different cities or countries In this type of interview, preparation is important, and not only informational. Common Skype Interview Mistakes 1.Being too casual The clothes should be official - no sportswear. It is easier to tune in a serious way if you are wearing a shirt, not a T-shirt. So make sure you’re dressed professionally from head to toe. 2.Not doing a trial run before the actual interview There’s nothing worse than firing up your laptop for a video interview and finding out your audio isn’t working, or your camera isn’t functioning, or your computer needs to update some driver before it’ll allow the program to run. Always do a test run at least 24 hours ahead of time so you’ve got an opportunity to fix any issues that might arise and that means making sure the person on the other end of the call can hear and see you. 3.Not setting your camera viewing angle Raise your camera up to a level where you’re looking straight at it, not down at it. This will help to give you a more natural look.

4.Not being aware of your background Because this is a video interview, your hiring manager is going to be focused entirely on the screen in front of them. Ideally you’d like that focus to be on you. Set yourself up in an area with good light and a pleasing background. Try to avoid a plain or white background as well as any backgrounds with busy patterns. A home office is always your best bet. 5.Not being focused Because you’re doing your video interview from home, there’s always the possibility that you won’t be alone while you shoot it. If possible, do your interview in a room where you can shut the door and block out outside noises including children, televisions in the background, or your rump scooting dog. Try to avoid doing your interview in a busy location like a coffee shop or a café. Above all, make sure you’re paying attention.
Skype Interview Tips 1.Be Technically Prepared Make sure you have the right software installed a minimum of 24 hours ahead of time and that everything is running the way it should be. You should also find out exactly who will be calling whom and at exactly what time for the interview. The last thing you want to do is be waiting for a call and find out an hour later that you were supposed to be the one doing the calling in.
2.Dress to Impress Try to avoid stripes, especially narrow and close together stripes. On camera, they can create a zigzag pattern. The same thing goes for very bright colors. Try to choose shades that are neutral or pale. Bright reds, oranges and whites can ‘blow out’ on camera. 3.Natural Eye Contact Try to maintain eye contact with the camera as much as possible. By looking straight at the camera, it gives the illusion that you are making eye contact with the interviewer. Keep your eye contact natural and don’t forget to blink! Along with natural eye contact, try keeping your expression pleasant and engaged. Smiling is always a good thing during an interview. 4.Use your desktop or laptop computer, not your cellphone Try to avoid using your mobile phone to conduct the video interview. Desktops and laptop computers generally have superior audio and camera capabilities compared to a cellphone. If you have to use your phone, make sure you have it on a steady surface.
