What is an Adult Education Learner (For National Reporting System [NRS] purposes)? 16 years old or older Not enrolled in K-12 school Demonstrated deficiency in math or

English (CASAS or Best Plus) Received/participated in at least 12 hours

of services (GED testing time does not count toward the 12 hours)

Assessment Records – be sure to indicate which test is being used to set EFL


An NRS approved standardized assessment must always be used for placing a learner in a beginning EFL CASAS Best Plus

GED Test (Full or Pretest) is not acceptable for placing a learner in a beginning EFL
