Spooky Street came and went by so
quickly! Thanksgiving is soon coming up
and I hope you‟re ready to put on a chef
hat, „cause we‟ll be baking some pies! In the
past, we always bake some pies for families.
Not everyone is fortunate to have

skills and our love into making pies so that
others can enjoy it. I am not sure about the
details, but be sure to be on the look out

Street! Hard work pays off!

As you may know, we are partnered with United Nations
Children’s Fund (UNICEF). Money Raised goes towards the
Children who are less fortunate in Countries around the
world. Instead of Trick-or-Treating for candy, ask your
neighbors to donate any spare change to UNICEF and remember
to thank them for their appreciation and kindness.
Have fun, Dress up, and be safe!
Remember, nothing’s Impossible!
You just got to BELIEVE!
*DON’T STOP BELIEVING.*

“The Pacific Northwest is the beginning. The world is our goal.”
“KCCP, Kiwanis Children’s Cancer Program, in
support of Kiwanis Doernbecher Children’s Cancer Program in Portland OR., Kiwanis Children’s Cancer Program in Seattle
WA. and the Kiwanis Children’s Cancer Program in British
Columbia and the Yukon, will raise money and awareness to fight and find the cure for
children’s cancer.”

In memory of Penny, a young girl who passed away because of brain cancer, PNW Kiwanis District Governor Frank Morehouse founded
KCCP in 2010. This program is dedicated to help “change the future and outcome of Children suffering from cancer.” The PNW is going to
stay involved in this program until the cure for cancer is found.
There are several ways we, key clubbers, can contribute:
Raise money
Go to the hospital and take a tour
Spend some time with a cancer patient Any act of kindness is a big difference.
If you have any more ideas, feel free to speak up. No one’s stopping you!
WHY SHOULD WE CARE? Because no child deserves to have cancer. It’s painful for the
child and their family. Not just physically, but mentally. It’s devastating. Imagine just happening to have a disease the
next day. You, too, would be in pain and scared because anything can happen. You could die the next day without
knowing. No child deserves to be left wondering what’s going to happen the next day, but they do deserve a chance of life.
But that can only happen if we do something today. We’ve already begun. But if you haven’t, then join the fun because
the sooner you start the more we can get done.
WHAT AND WHY: I HIGHLY encourage everyone to go to District Convention
(DCON). You learn a lot more about Key Club at a district level. You meet key
clubbers from around the Pacific Northwest and develop a keen sense that key club
is more than just a club. If I had a million dollars, I’d force all of you to go. It’s just
that good.
But, sadly, I don’t. So, let me just say, it’s an experience you shouldn’t miss out on.
You have fun and learn how to be the best Key clubber!!! And the best thing is you
get to bring it back to club and brag about it and hopefully get more people to go
next time. Well, maybe not the best thing. But still, You WILL have a great time. And
I guarantee it. SO GUYS AND GALS. GO TO DCON.
THAT’S RIGHT. YOU WANT TO KNOW MORE!! Okay, then go to PNWKEYCLUB.ORG
and click on DCON. or ask officers.

International and UNICEF have joined forces to eliminate maternal and neonatal tetanus. This deadly disease steals
the lives of nearly 60,000 innocent babies… The effects of the disease are excruciating — tiny newborns suffer
repeated, painful convulsions and extreme sensitivity to light and touch.
To eliminate MNT from the Earth, more than 100 million mothers and their future babies must be immunized…It
will take US $110 million — and the dedicated work of UNICEF and every member of the Kiwanis family.
Kiwanis and UNICEF joined forces…eliminating MNT from the face of the Earth. And in doing so, the project will
reach the poorest, most neglected mothers and babies with additional lifesaving health care. The end of this one disease means the beginning of better health for so many
families.” -Kiwanis/UNICEF
