Founded in 1973, Riney Hancock CPAs (RH) set out to be a focused firm dedicated to providing timely, quality services, focused on solutions, through commitment, excel-lence and innovation.
In 1989, interested in becoming more of a regional firm, RH merged with Roy Cobb, CPA in Evansville. With offices in Owens-boro and Evans-ville the firm is able to meet the financial and business needs of their clients in the tri-state area.
With seven shareholders and a professional and support staff of 23 team members, RH continues an atmo-sphere of “excellence” in everything they do. This, coupled with a philosophy of always doing what is in the best interest of their cli-ents, while maintaining their independence and integrity. RH’s mission statement is simply…. “To be our clients most valued and trusted financial advisors.”
RH’s financial advisors are continually striving for innovative ways to solve their clients’ problems and offer value-added advice. RH employees are more than just your client service team – they are part of a network of local professionals who care deeply about one another, their clients and their community. The bottom line; RH’s people enjoy people.
To say they have been in business for 40 years is not the firm’s most defining accom-plishment. It is their growth into an experi-enced firm of highly specialized CPAs and financial advisors who have helped clients succeed, grow and increase their profitability. Their success is Riney Hancock’s success!

The University of Louisville’s 17th president, Dr. James R. Ramsey has led the university through a time of dra-matic change. President since Novem-ber 2002, Ramsey’s tenure has been marked by unprecedented improve-ments in the quality of incoming students, prestigious student awards, research, faculty accomplishment and philanthropy. UofL is graduating nearly 1,000 more students each year, its graduation rate has increased 60 per-cent and research spending has more than doubled since Ramsey became president. The Belknap campus has transformed from primarily a com-
muter campus to a dynamic, vibrant place where more than 5,000 students live in university or affiliated housing and enjoy new eating, entertaining and recreation options.
A frequent national speaker and writer on economic issues, Ramsey has received numerous awards includ-ing the Greater Louisville Inc. Silver Fleur-De-Lis in 2012 and 2011, Boy Scouts of America Silver Beaver Award in 2012, Kosair Charities’ Sam Swope Community Leadership Award in 2011, Ad Federation of Louisville’s Louisvillian of the Year Award in 2010, the Volunteers of America (Kentucky)
Volunteer Spirit Award in 2008, the Governor’s Association’s Outstanding Public Service Award in 2001 and Ken-tucky’s Distinguished Economist of the Year in 1999.
Before assuming U of L’s top post, Ramsey served as senior policy advisor and state budget director for the Com-monwealth of Kentucky and senior pro-fessor of economics and public policy at U of L. He has held administrative and faculty positions at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, West-ern Kentucky University, Loyola Uni-versity, the University of Kentucky and Middle Tennessee State University.

The Chamber recently unveiled a new website at www.owensboro.com/chamber. Not only does the site feature a new updated look that is easier to navigate; new features have been added that will benefit all Chamber members. Members can now post “Hot Deals,” events on the internal calendar, and post employment opportuni-ties at your business.
In the first three weeks of the site being up, it generated 30% more page views then the previous website did in the same amount of time. The Chamber Directory
is now easier to search and provides more information about fellow Chamber mem-bers than ever before, like the ability to view the member’s Facebook and Twitter pages, map their location on Google Maps, and watch a video about the company.
Businesses can visit the member portal at http://business.chamber.owensboro.com/login/ or call the Chamber at 926-1860 to request a copy of their referral report, showing how many times their business has been viewed on the member directory in a certain period of time.
