EXPLORING THE SECRETS OF THE TALMUD (VIRTUAL) Mondays, Nov 23 & 30 - 7:00 pm Study of this central Jewish text pertaining to Jewish law, ethics, customs and history. This is the longest running Jewish class in our area, but no previous knowledge needed. Taught by Rabbi Herbert Mandl. Zoom links are emailed to class participants just prior to each class. KOSHER shabbaT AND THANKSgIVINg CURbSIDE MEALS TO gO NOW AVAILAbLEKosher Shabbat and holiday curbside “Meals-to-Go” will be available for purchase on Fridays, November 20, December 18 and January 15. Meals will be prepared on a rotating basis by kosher caterers Kim Matsil- Kim’s Kreations, Cathy Levin of Kosher Connection, and Steve Ellenberg, Ellenberg Experience Catering under supervision of the Vaad Hakashrut of Kansas City. Meals can be ordered in quantities to serve one or more individuals or a family of four. All food items will be packaged in containers suitable for warming in the oven or transfer microwaveable items to a microwave safe container before heating. ISRAEL UPDATE - NOVEMbER 20, 2020 bAHRAIN TRADE DELEgATION ExPECTED IN ISRAEL NExT MONTHBahrain has stepped forward to forge a new path of peace with Israel. A trade delegation from Bahrain is expected to arrive in Israel in the near future. Bahraini Foreign Minister Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani led the first-ever official delegation from his country to Israel on Wednesday. The delegation will include Bahraini business leaders, who plan to meet with their Israeli counterparts and Economy Minister Amir Peretz. In addition, Foreign Minister Gabi Ashkenazi plans to visit Manama on December 4, which would make him the first Israeli minister to pay an official visit to Bahrain. The Abraham Accords are a model for peace and prosperity, ushering in a new era of Israeli-Arab cooperation.

COMMUNITy FAMILy RELIgIOUS SCHOOL CHANUKAH CELEbRATION

A unique virtual interactive and engaging community Cha-nukah educational experience is planned for all Religious School families on Sunday, December 6, 10:00-10:50 a.m. in place of regular religious school morning sessions. Parents are encouraged to join in the fun and grandparents are welcome to participate!This special program will feature the Bible Players, a Torah comedy team based in New York City. The group teaches Jewish values using theater and improvisation to infuse comedy and laughs into tales from the Torah and beyond. Since founding The Bible Players in 2011, they have toured America from NY to Texas to California, bringing their unique show to thousands of people of all backgrounds and ages, from Kindergarten through adults. They’ve performed in 30 states, and do over 100 programs a year. Their Chanukah presentation retells the Festival of Lights - the story of Milton the Menorah, an insecure menorah who finds the spirit (ruach) and light to shine.
