Library Highlights

Teen Read Week Oct. 31st – Nov. 4th Once again the BSHS LMC joyously celebrated Teen Read Week, sponsored by the Young Adult Library Services for Teens and the American Library Association. Our activities were based on this year’s theme: “Picture It @ Your Library.” *On both Tuesday and Wednesday, students were invited to “Bookmark Yourself.” They chose from six templates and personalized their bookmarks with text and a photo of themselves. *On Thursday, students participated in Book Pictionary before school. They chose book titles from a container and then illustrated them for the other students to guess. *On Friday, thirty-two students signed up to play “Name that Book” during their lunch. Students were divided into two groups who bid against one another for the opportunity to name a book based on a verbal clue and up to five images representing the book. As they played, they enjoyed pizza, soda, and cookies compliments of the library.Veteran’s Day, Nov. 11th The library staff was honored to assist in hosting the Veteran’s Day Reception. Guests, students and teachers enjoyed refreshments as veterans informally shared their experiences with others.

Bulldog Booklovers Club Meeting, Nov. 14th Twenty-three students and three teachers met on this Monday afternoon for the fourth club meeting this year. We divided into groups to discuss the books Divergent by Veronica Roth and Purple Heart by Patricia McCormick. The next meeting will be Dec. 8th.
