A LETTER FROM THE DIOCESE OF CHEYENNE’S NEW DIRECTOR OF COMMUNICATIONS: Greetings! I am the new director of communications for the Diocese of Cheyenne. Please find a brief bulletin announcement that I am sending on behalf of Bishop Steven
Biegler. If you have any questions, feel free to email me.
“It is with a heavy heart that the Diocese of Cheyenne informs you of a
credible accusation regarding Rev. Donn Shelly, a priest of the
Congregation of the Holy Spirit, Irish Province. Father Shelly
(deceased) served from 1969 to 1970 at Our Lady of Fatima, Casper,
and later that year at St. Mary’s Cathedral, Cheyenne, for a short time.
Assistance has been offered to the victim.
As a diocese, we reaffirm our commitment to the safety of all God’s
children. Together let us be vigilant in providing a safe environment &
praying for all victims/survivors of clergy sexual abuse. If you suspect
abuse of a minor, call your local law enforcement agency or the
Department of Family Services. Upon notification of authorities or if you
have questions, please call Chancellor Jean Chrostoski at
